A cool cafe with seriously good food, Boom Eatery has quickly become the talk of Crows Nest’s crowded stretch of cafes and restaurants along Willoughby Road. Founded by two rising stars of Sydney’s hospitality scene – Swiss head chef Marc Gehret, who has over two decades of professional experience in Michelin-starred European restaurants, and Italian restaurant manager Andrea Marcelli, who has managed some of London’s hippest bars and Melbourne’s best-known restaurants – it’s hardly surprising that Boom Eatery has a sensational menu, excellent service and, most of the time, lots of buzz (advance reservations are strongly advised at all times, by the way). Boom Eatery are open for breakfast (covering seasonal fruit with Greek yoghurt, a zingy hummus brekkie, big brekkie, benedict, bacon & egg roll and everything in between) and lunch (fried squid, steak sandwich or pea and hazelnut risotto?) seven days a week, so there’s never a bad time to pop by!
