More about the restaurant: Coyotito

The word around Brisbane CBD is that the Mexican food at Coyotito is down right delicious, and we’d have to agree. Certainly not your average sloppy serving of over-guacamoled Tex-Mex, the food here is authentic and thoughtful with a very welcome focus on the classic taco. On Eagle Lane, the aromas of Coyotito hit you when you’re still ten paces away from the front door, and alongside imported beers and, of course, plenty of boutique tequilas, we’re quite sure your visit to Coyotito will be one of the most pleasant Mexican dining experiences you’ve ever had in Brisbane.

Thinking about making a Coyotito booking?

As we’re sure Coyotito’s loyal Brisbane followers will tell you themselves, the fact this Mexican restaurant is so perfectly hidden away on Eagle Lane in the CBD makes the food all the more enjoyable. But more about the food in a little while as it’s also important to talk about the vibe of the place and what it looks like once you’re inside. The dining space is a very interesting place to sit – perhaps best described as elegantly industrial – and the main eye-catcher is a large, map-like illustration covering one whole wall. Basically, it all feels very Mexican.

As we alluded to earlier, the tacos at Coyotito are causing quite the buzz among foodies of Brisbane as they’re fresh, generous, gluten-free and constructed with flavour first in mind. Try the al pastor that’s filled with chargrilled achiote pork, caramelised pineapple, capsicum, cheese and sour cream, or the ceviche chico that’s filled with citrus-marinated fish, avocado, pink pickles and plenty of coriander. Also on the Coyotito menu you’ll find larger plates of Mexican goodness to share as well as daily specials of ceviche.
