Spanish tapas suits the Gold Coast as much as surf and sun, and up in Southport it’s Don Miguel’s that is dishing up the good stuff. Begin with raciones, smaller tapas to share between two (dining Spanish should always be social, or at least an intimate one-on-one) with a jug of the housemade sangria. Speaking of housemade refreshment, Don Miguel’s also brew their own beer and ginger beer at their Nerang Street address. If that isn’t enough to whet your whistle, there’s a huge range of imported and Australian craft beers, cocktails, domestic and international wines perfectly paired with a generous paella or postres, something sweet to finish. With lunch specials and live entertainment rounding off the Spanish experience, you’d better reserve Don Miguel’s in advance.
The food and service was great. Michael the owner was friendly and made sure we had an enjoyable evening. I will definitely be back as it was great value for money too!
