Located on Toorak Road in Sydney’s South Yarra, Ecco gives diners a true Italian experience. Sit outside in the charming patio area with its rustic brick tiles and potted plants and dine al fresco, or head inside to the cosy candlelit dining room full of authentic charm with its traditional decor and wooden furniture. Begin your meal with some antipasti, like the calamari fritti (fried calamari with white balsamic mayonnaise) or some zuppa di pesce (raw beef fillet with evo oil, lemon and parmesan).
Serving up pizza just the way it is back in the chef’s native Tuscany, you know the woodfired offerings over at Sydney’s Ecco restaurant are the real deal. Try the pepata topped with tomato, mozzarella, hot salami, wood fire-roasted red peppers and chilli, or the salmone affumicato with Tasmanian smoked salmon, capers, dill, tomato and mascarpone. Round your meal off at South Yarra’s Ecco restaurant by indulging in some tiramisu or sticky fig pudding with butterscotch ice cream – bellissimo!
A well run Italian restaurant with a warm atmosphere. Family managed. Service is professional & caring. We shared a pizza, calamari between 4, the calamari was perfect. Then mains, 2 had perfectly cooked rib eye , 1 enjoyed porcini pasta special, + my veal was delicious. Flavours & quality consistent. Wine list , something for everyone. We always go back.
Never disappoints . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . .
Our lunch at Ecco was the first meeting with my family since returning from overseas. Great food and great atmosphere as always. Thank you so much.
This is a good restaurant. The service is very good. The pizza is thin, not overdone, and has a great smokey flavour from the oven. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
We shared a calamari entree then had the chicken dish and the duck risotto between us, followed by a shared tiramisu. Each dish was of high quality, flavour and texture. We drank two glasses of the Hugo red each which is a quality wine. If anything, I would like to see a greater choice in the wine list. Staff were friendly and provided excellent service.
Service was lovely, friendly and professional (would have liked more table water but that's about it). Nice atmosphere and relatively quite till 7-7:30 on a Friday night and even as it filled wasn't too loud or chaotic like some places. We had a delicious entree and pizzas for main were great and a very generous size!
We had a gorgeous meal at Ecco from start to finish! The food was superb and the service was fast. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere was lovely. If we lived in Melbourne we'd definitely be regular visitors 😀
Lunchtime special on a Friday is the best way to finish off a big work week. Staff are very lovely. Wood fired pizzas and beers in the courtyard, perfect.
A relaxing and inviting restaurant, offering terrific pasta and pizza (together with a range of other options), with good service. Recommended for a casual meal and night with friends in a welcoming environment.
The gentle and efficient waiter bright us delicious and authentic, tasteful morsels. The room started cool even with the woodfire burning so close...A little Italian haven. Yum...
Gorgeous place and beautiful food. The staff are quite good and we haven't had a dish there that is bad yet. Highly recommended to eat at!
Food and service very good . Good menu and wine list and table service excellent . Have dined there a number of times and they are consistent with their quality .
Thumbs up for both food and the dining experience. The BYO option suits us too. Both the staff and ambience are really lovely - felt like I was in Italy :)
Been before a couple of times and had great pizza and entree's but last night the water was stale and tasted off, also the pizza was tasteless compared to previous ones we have had there, the appetiser was good though and the wine, well its italian not like our aussie Shiraz!!!
Regular visit from Tasmania , consistently good service, diverse menu and James is the man, good location and always busy, a good sign.will be back.
The food was great, serving sizes were generous, the service was very good in a really nice environment, we look forward to our next meal at Ecco. :)
Enjoyed the meal. Friday a busy night for a booking of 10. Service good. As it was my birthday I felt it was a bit impersonal.
We had a special of the day - Swordfish. It was heavily crumbed and also stuffed with breadcrumbs - very dry - no lemon or sauce accompanied and not much fish :(
The Food was good and service great . The Overall Value was good . Definitely worthwhile for good Italian food . Would recommend without hesitation
It was nothing to rave about. Food was okay, wine was average, and the service was fine too. Probably won't be heading north back any time soon
