Eno Garden

Food was ok and the young lady serving was professional and welcoming but the overall ambiance, well there is none. The website makes this tiny dining space look amazing and reads so well with what’s on offer. A beautiful outside alternative to dining in, there is not, there are no plants or lush gardens, you could only get lost in surrounding dirt. Continue down the shabby path way, past the open kitchen/prep room that radiants high heat, then another steep step down the eatery. The day was warm and with a tiny space, it soon became sticky and unpleasant.

Super cute cafe tucked away in Balwyn, with a huge and comfy open area in the back perfect for taking your pampered pooch. Weirdly, the drinks (hojicha latte) took longer than the food to arrive (soft shell crab and tempura prawn roll), but we weren't in a rush so wasn't too much of an issue. The disappointing thing is when we arrived around 12:30pm, half the menu was sold out - and the sold out items were what we had wanted to order! When our friend who arrived late checked the menu again around 1:30pm all the sold out items were available! Not sure if they were not ready yet when we had arrived (considering they are open 8am, this would mean terrible planning), had actually sold out temporarily (on a Wednesday when the restaurant was empty, seems unlikely) or had just forgotten to turn the menu items on until later we will never know. My friend ordered the unagi bowl, and she found the eel quite chewy/tough but otherwise the taste of the food was decent overall.

Bright, clean, tidy cafe with lovely deco, delicious food and 5-star service. Highly recommended.
