Flavours of Indus Carlton is home to one of the most exciting Indian menus in Melbourne. Located on Lygon Street, just west of the Royal Exhibition Building and Gardens, this vibrant and lively space serves up some of the most flavoursome dishes in town. Carefully balanced spices bring out the special character of each dish, and whether you order the silky smooth butter chicken, succulent tandoori platters, authentic kati rolls or fragrant paneer tikka, you’ll be in for a delicious time indeed. Flavours of Indus Melbourne is a popular spot for very good reason, so book ahead and find out what all the fuss is about for yourself.
Overall experience okay. There should be more vegetable options--nothing on the menu involving potatoes, eggplant or okra, which is pretty unusual for an Indian restaurant. Chana masala was good, but malai chicken tikka only so-so (regretted ordering it). Rotis and salted lassi were good. Another visit, trying other options, needed to pass a final verdict on this restaurant.
Good food in a very friendly environment. Especially enjoyed the vegetarian biryani. One small criticism is the menu which I have some trouble reading because of the dark colour behind the text.
Lovely food, great service, and they were very accommodating of a large group of people booked at the last minute. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
