Decent dishes which were quite tasty, and cocktails should be passed as they were overly sweet but somewhat tasteless and pricy. Fried chicken and salads were standouts

No complaints. Served by a beautiful young French lady, only thing better was the food. Makes me miss living back in Kensington, best Korean in town.

Food is tasty, authentic Korean flavours..and if rated on that alone, 5/6. One waitress, two kitchen staff, and owner is not enough to service a full restaurant. A couple more servers might mean the food isn't sitting on the counter for 30 minutes before it's served, only to be sent back because it's too cold. Lack of system/order and service really lets FC down and it's so sad because their food is amazing.

Friendly staff, meals came out at sporadically, lovely wine choices, expensive soft drink. Glad to try a local Korean venue with the ladies serving with a smile.

We went to Frying Colours on a Monday night for a birthday. One thing that stood out when we walked in was that there was no aroma of freshly cooked food. There was one person seating/taking orders/serving food and one person cooking. There was three tables occupied, two people on each. We were a group of 5, so all up there weren't many people in the restaurant. Firstly, it took about 10 minutes for the table to be prepared, ie., glasses, plates, cutlery etc. then a few more minutes to be brought menus, which were very hard to read, light print on dark brown paper in dim lighting. Took us a few minutes to decide what we wanted, then called the waiter and ordered. It took about 40 minutes for the food to arrive to the table; acceptable if the place was full, but two of the other tables got up, paid and left in this time. A big put off was when the first person (noted above) carried a huge bag of raw chicken pieces from the front kitchen to the back somewhere; he just carried it through the restaurant. Food: we ordered one each of the fried chicken, which were tender and tasty, although two of the three serves we ordered were just warm, while the third was steaming hot. Eggplant, $9 for two skewers with 4 tiny eggplant triangles on each; the dumplings $15 for 4 golf ball sized dumplings. The mixed grill $49 for half a plate of salad and a few pieces of meat, which were just warm. Very disappointing. The fries, $5 for what looked like the bottom of the frozen chips bag, the fries were all only 1-3 inches long. The wasabislaw was okay. It's one place we will not be going to again.

the fried chicken with honey soy is amazing, a must try! I also tried the mixed grill which was pretty good. My favourite was the pork belly

Nice relaxed atmosphere. Great place to catch up with friends. Very extensive drinks menu. The fried chicken was very nice and reasonably priced as well.

Nice set up place with opoen kitchen which allows you to see the cooking. Fried chicken and belly pork werereally good while the sweet potato noodle with a good size scotch fillet steak was great.

Food took over an hour to come. We ended up cancelling some of the order because we just wanted to leave. Charged us full price for a bottle of sparkling wine that was listed on the menu as a french wine but was actually Yellowglen - a much cheaper alternative. I've had an upset stomach this morning. Never going back.

The restaurant ran out of most of the main ingredients and hence could not order half of their menu We were a table of four and had only one other table of four patron The waiters were not attentive at all given just couple of tables The food is pretty pricey and not authentic

I had heard great reviews about Frying Colours. The waitress did not have a lot of knowledge about the menu. The original Fried Chicken was delicious and I recommend for anyone eating here to try it. The lamb ribs were disappointing as they were a little dry and needed to be served with a sauce. The dumplings were very nice also. The ambience of the restaurant was good but didn't meet my expectations based on recommendations I had received.

Seeing all the negative reviews recently I was hesitant, but Frying Colours pleasantly surprised me. We were doing a Saturday lunch and the food was great, service was also great and friendly. Thanks Frying Colours.

Very limited food choices - items on menu not available. Food came out cold and needed to be sent back. Not best value for prices listed. Friendly service.

We experienced some unfortunate events that justified the lower score. Front door was locked by staff the night before and we had to use the side entrance that wasn't easy to find. Smoke alarm went off. Ran out of dumplings and had to remake them which took over an hour. We had eaten everything else 45 minutes prior to the "entree".

Food was alright, but lacked flavour. Service was also quite poor. I was expecting a lot more so was quite disappointed overall. Would probably not return.

The bipimbap was burned on the bottom my the time it got to our table and they flavour ruined the whole dish. The services was lacking and we had to try and hail the waitress to bring us drinks. Disappointing as I have dined at Frying Colours many times and it was one of my favourites. The fried chicken was still delicious and the dumplings were great.

Food was nice, grilled meat was good, unlike other Korean BBQ, you do not have to cook it yourself. Restaurant was quiet and good looking

dined using a coupon. probably would consider this restaurant overpriced otherwise ($16 for 4 small pancakes, $20 for a plate of veg noodles that was mostly noodles).

The food was good but the staff were useless. They not clue what was going on, no communication. A waitress asked me for my drink order but there was no drinks menu to be seen, and when she went to go look for one, she said there was only one and she could not find it; this is rather difficult if you are trying to order a glass of red. Then a waiter asked me again, what drink I wanted to drink from the menu... this is lack of communication. Our food & drink menu has pages missing from it, so we couldn't order anything as the mains were missing. We asked for another menu and it was the same problem, every menu had a different page missing. So we then had to rely on the waiters 'knowledge' of the menu.. which was interesting. When our food arrived it was wrong, we asked for spicy chicken but received the original chicken, we told them but said we do not want to swap because we were hungry enough. They still charged us for it too and offer us some spicy sauce with the wings and we also got charged for that. The service was poor but the food was good (slightly over priced), so its not a great combination. Shame, I was really looking forward to this place.

Very nice Korean fusion food with chic decor and ambiance. Do consider sharing for variety, as some mains portions are big. Besides, Asian foods are communal. The KFC (Korean Fried Chicken is a popular dish.

Tried Frying Colours for lunch using a Scoopon. Our family of 5 chose 6 dishes. Eggplant skewers, lamb ribs, and fried chicken were the best. The restaurant was pleasant and the staff friendly.

Calamari not available, pork ribs not available, the white wine we ordered, not available. Undercooked chicken delivered to our table, uninspiring salad - unfortunately an experience to forget.

Fabulous food - great location (plenty of side street parking and close to train station). Fried chicken is fantastic and the vegetarian options here are quite extensive too. The Wasabi coleslaw, Kimchi pancakes and vegetarian Bibimbap were sensational!

Bad: Wait staff relatively uninformed. Wine by the glass pours were short. Wine list didn' match what they actually had (at all). Menu options drastically cut down. Good: The food itself. I like meat and they do meat well.

Made a booking for 7pm on Friday and requested a high chair. When we arrived there was no high chair available. When it was time to order we were informed that there were some items on the menu that were not available. Most of the items on the menu were not available. Unacceptable for a Friday evening. We ended up leaving and taking our business elsewhere.

For some reason only 1/4 of the menu was available. Similar for the drinks menu. We asked the waiter why, and his answer was 'we're just not organised'. The food we did get was average. We live across town, and the last time we were here (2 years back), the food was great. Taken a distinct turn for the worse since then.

I'm sorry to say that it was disappointing. The last time we came - a couple of years ago, it was fabulous - great food, service and atmosphere. This time however the service was haphazard (though well meaning), the food took ages and was cold (in parts), dumplings were under-cooked and they totally missed part of our order. We also thought some menu items (eg the ribs) were very expensive for such a small serve. We left very dissatisfied, I hope it was just an off night.

Food is good, good service, but missing the korean condiments (side dish). Kimchi? Pickles? Booked table for 13, but seperated by awkard brick post. Kind of weird.

Great Korean restaurant, the chicken was quite hot and spicy and you really need a water bowl to wash your hands afterwards as eating the chicken leaves you with sticky fingers. Limited menu, I would have preferred more veggies on the menu but overall it was great. The national Korean cocktail was very yummy.

The staff were very friendly however the rice was bought out cold, the calamari was quite small for the price and the meat platter was also just warm on coming to the table. The food was very nice albeit not hot. Not once in the entire experience did a staff member come to check that our meal was ok or ask how it was at the end. This was disappointing given there was only one other table with customers. The restaurant has some potential however prices are high and cold albeit it was good quality.
