Dishing out hearty, healthy and authentic Indian dishes at great prices right by Canberra Centre in Civic, Garnish Of India is hard to pass up for those looking for affordable but quality Indian food in the heart of the city. Garnish Of India serve many familiar Indian favourites like chicken jalfrezi and lamb rogan josh, but what really sets this Bunda Street fixture apart are their lesser known Indian delicacies – try the signature Hyderabadi dum biryani for a twist on a classic, or if it’s in season it’s absolutely unforgivable for seafood lovers to pass up the Kuraliachi roast crab, an amazing traditional dish that you won’t find anywhere else in Canberra. Given its prime location and unique menu, Garnish Of India is never quiet so it’s wise to book a table well ahead of time.

Too much up-selling. Every time we ordered something we were told it wasn't enough and we should order more - sometimes as much as three times more, eg we ordered raita to share among four and were told that we really needed three serves. If we'd ordered everything recommended, we would have wasted a lot of food and a lot of money. The food was generally tasty but the service was disappointing.

Delious food. Friendly, helpful staff - they kindly put together a banquet that included a good mix of meat and vegetarian options. Relaxed venue for a group dinner.
