A favourite among the Japanese cuisine loving foodies of Geelong, Hi Sushi has a number of restaurants dotted around the city. Located inside the Market Square shopping centre on Malop Street in the city centre, Hi Sushi’s Market Square branch is perfect for popping into after spending the day shopping, and on the menu you’ll find all of the time-honoured Japanese dishes that we all know and love. Whet your appetite with the kaki fry (deep-fried crumbed oysters with Japanese tartare sauce) or agedashi tofu (fried bean curd with a soya and ginger sauce topped with bonito flakes). The tuck into some sushi, sashimi or another Japanese favourite like the katsu don (crumbed pork cooked with onion and egg and served with rice and miso soup).
We shared a few of the smaller items between the group. Scallops, seafood okonimyaki, grilled squid, a teriyaki beef bowl and some dumplings. Service was friendly and efficient. Including drinks 2 beers and 3 wines, bill came to under $80. Good value.
