We’re told not to judge a book by its cover, but sometimes titles and names are spot on. That’s exactly the case with this cool cafe on Nelson Street in Kenthurst, somehow still relatively unmarked on most of Sydney’s culinary maps. Hidden Jem has everything you could require from a local cafe – first-rate coffee, refreshing fresh shakes and smoothies, homely digs (the polished post-industrial kind), superb food, dog-friendly operators and plenty of dedicated space and treats for kids. But adults are the ones who really appreciate Hidden Jem’s secret delights, found on their lengthy breakfast and brunch menus. Beautifully presented and ranging from small brekkie bites to indulgent cheese platters for a leisurely afternoon, Hidden Jem’s range of eating choices provide for your enjoyment, nourishment and relaxation throughout the day.
We had a reservation and despite being busy for Father's Day, we were seated promptly and served quickly. The food came out much quicker than expected and was tasty as always. Staff were friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this cafe that lives up to its name!
Great food easy location Went for breakfast very speedy service once order food! Definitely would recommend to anyone thinking of going to the hidden gem
Amazing food, great coffee and excellent service! The breakfast bowl and burger were especially delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for a Sunday morning! Couldn't ask for more
Lovely rural setting great atmosphere we were a party of 8 food came out fast was absolutely delicious and fresh. Would definitely recommend this place
Our table was ready when we arrived. We were brought out menu and water straight away. You order and pay at the counter. We didn't have to wait long for our drinks and food. The drinks and food were delicious. We had the beef burger and falafel tacos, both highly recommended. Will be sure to return.
Food was tasty and fresh and presented well. Nice setting opposite a park. We sat outside (June) so the strip heaters on the ceiling were great. Ordering is done at the counter but I would like to see table service here as there are plenty of (friendly) staff to do this. Kudos that they supply the daily paper.
We went for Fathers Day Brunch and everything worked out perfectly. They were very prepared to provide coffee and food quickly and everything came out as expected! A really peaceful and relaxed cafe but with the modern twist we like!
Great little café! Food was delicious and the service was friendly and fast. Loved the cake shakes and the kids menu was spot on. Smashed avo was the best I've had in the Hills District! Highly recommended!
Nicely decorated café located in the Kenthurst shopping village opposite a lovely big park. Friendly and efficient staff with great coffee and good food. Would highly recommend this great little find.
Food and atmosphere were both lovely. Service was efficient and staff were friendly. We will definitely be back to enjoy the experience again. The booking service was easy and convenient.
