Hokkaido Sushi Train - Launceston

Amazing food as normal, but there was not a heap on the train.

Okay. Food is nice. Kids enjoy it there I feel the place could be a bit cleaner. The entry was very dirty. iPads didn’t look all that clean.

It was cleaner than last time. But still a bit flaccid especially the wait staff not feeling the warm yet in either dept. Fried offerings could have been hotter and crisper. And the scallop aburi was not as nice as last time - did they even flame it?

The food on the sushi traij looks old and dry like it has been on there all day. Not appealing at all. The Fresh cooked stuff was ok

The food on this occasion was not the best I have had here, the miso soup was half empty and lukewarm warm, and the goyzers had barley any sauce in them so they were a little dry, as well as most of the rolls we got the rice was very dry, but all that aside the biggest issue was the absolute bomb shell of a mess there was going on in there, no table had been wiped for a long time as there were dry shriveled up fish eggs on them and the seats were no better, you had a job to walk to the table without stepping in food and once you found a clean spot under the table you were too scared to move it in case of treading in food, the service was average from the moment we arrived with the waitress saying there was no booking after I had told them my name and then had to point it out on the table, and the was directed to a bench before I had to let them know we had reserved a booth, and then any time anything was brought over to the table it was just sat down and then they walked away, I don’t expect anything special but even just a “here’s your food” would have been more welcoming then nothing, but all this and I’m going to write it down as a once off because most of the time it isn’t that bad in there, the cleanliness could always improve but tonight was just unreal the amount of food and mess was strewn around the place, thank you for the service in any case it won’t deter me as many other times the food has been exceptionally delicious so I’ll see you again for sure.

We frequently visit Hokkaido Sushi Train and have an amazing experience everytime. The food is fresh and tastes delicious, the atmosphere is fun, and the staff are so kind. We even have our birthdays here!

The food was very unsatisfactory, we ordered a teriyaki chicken plate with rice and miso soup, the chicken was burnt and there was no sauce to speak of. We were extremely disappointed.

While the food was tasty, the customer service needs some work. We were pointed to our table with no explanation. Once we got there and we tried to order using the tablet we discovered it was faulty. When we asked a waitress if we could order the other items on the menu she said they weren’t available only drinks could be ordered from the tablet and only the food on the sushi train was available for lunch. Once we had been there a little while we saw that other tables were receiving orders from the kitchen from what they were ordering from the tablet. We asked the waitress again if we were able to order from the other items on the tablet and we saw other customers doing so, she said you could try the tablet now it might work. We also asked if the waitress was able to just take our order in person and add it to our bill and she said no she could not. This was very disappointing service as it was explained as they weren’t doing other items at lunch time just sushi train food not in fact that the table we were sat at had a faulty tablet. In future maybe explain to the customer what’s happening with your technology and the way you are meant to order and receive dishes as a work around when this happens. Thanks.

We went there for my daughter's birthday. They gave her a free drink which was really nice!!... but then the food came... they tried to give us avocado sushi that had been sitting out all day and was black and brown. they replaced it with fresh stuff when we asked. They accidentally sent us two extra plate of chicken mini rolls. we kept one (which we were charged for) and sent one back. That's not a big deal but you'd think if they make the mistake usually they'd comp the plate. Then we had to wait for ages for the dumplings. we ordered them right when we arrived at 5:45 and they didn't arrive to the table till 6:30... it was fine but the kids (and us) had had enough by then. We were about to leave without eating the dumplings and they showed up on the train. oh the other thing that was pretty annoying was that the train kept getting stuck at our table and saying "please take your meal in time" over and over again and this was just getting on my nerves after the 3rd time it happened... oh... and the iPads were SUPER dirty! Really though, the food was fine. The front end girls were really good. The salmon sashimi was actually great but it was all the other little things that made the rest of the experience mediocre

Delicious fast and easy perfect for lunch with the kids or friends.

It was a very quiet evening in the restaurant and inattentive staff. Train was minimally replenished, drinks took so long to arrive, we event had to call the service bell to remind them. Cutlery was dirty and when asked to replace, we thought they forgot again. We ordered a few things via the tablet, the last dish would never have come if we did not again call the service bell- every cook in the kitchen were on their phones and dockets were being ignored. We've been several times and have enjoyed, even raved about it, however this time was shocking, hard to relax due to the aloof service that was on display. Wont be back.

The restaurant was quite unclean the night we went, and some things were broken/ not working.

Food and friendly service as good as always. We had a booth, but sadly noticed it had an odour to it, table may need a deeper clean or replacing with a non wooden one.

Got there at 11:30am quite about 10 minutes later a party turned up and was loud. And the food was great.
