Service was excellent, Peking duck was disappointing, in fact I have had better from the packet at Woolworths. Cantonese beef was very disappointing as well. For eye fillet it was very chewy. Staff were friendly and attentive. Overall if not for the staff I would give this a 1 out of 5
Great service, good food, attentive. Accommodated larger group of friends.
Delicious food as always at a very affordable price and with great service!
The restaurant didn’t even know about our booking. Poor organisation.
Thank you for the great food, service and for facilitating an enjoyable wine tasting before selection.
Delicious food in a great setting . Would recommend for a family outing .
My friends and I had a goo time, as expected
Attentive staff, delicious food, good ambiance, not too noisy. Good place for dinner
We had the rudest waiter ever!! Unbelievable. Food was great though.
The food here is great. Highly recommend the chilli wontons.
It was our first time there and most likely our last
Superb as usual. Best dumplings etc in Melbourne and great staff
Great food as usual! Staff very courteous. Service very quick.
Good food and fast service. Great ambience and clean facility
Amazing food and service, will defiantly be back for more
The BEST Chilli wontons you can get anywhere. The sauce is to die for.
The food is, unfortunately, not the quality it used to be. The panfried dumplings no longer came in their pan with the 'dumpling wafer' and therefore lost their amazing texture, the chilli dumplings were lukewarm and the soup dumplings have lost their flavour. Additionally, we had a table next to us who, because of the table configuration kept swinging bags into our heads as they greeted each other.
The dumplings were amazing. The sizzling beef dish was very salty. But overall a good restaurant. there needs to be a few more dumpling in a serve.
Fast service, great food and atmosphere. A good night! Thank you.
Fantastic meal of dumplings and other delicacies, we really enjoyed it!
Enjoyed meal until Peking duck. Came on steamer. So hot could not be handled. Pancake was wet duck was dry. Yuck. Ruined a good meal by not serving freshly made food
As usual, we were happy to share a lunch at Hu Tong restaurant
Good food and friendly staff, quiet atmosphere. Overall good experience
Wine excessively expensive $16 per glass, at a dumpling house. Food pushed without break, clearly to get you out quicker. No lingering meal. Will not be returning
Great food and excellent service. Enjoyed “real” Chinese menu with a wide range of dumplings and some excellent vegetable dishes. Will go to Hutong again.
My go to place for Saturday yum cha and dumplings it was fantastic!! You must try the egg tarts and the squashy things covered in coconut, they are pale green, yellow and white with a sort of marshmallow in the middle!! Really yummy 😋
The decor is great! The dishes are a bit too oily. No fruits on desert menu. Needs to be a bit more creative to differentiate itself.
Nice welcome, great selection of good, good quality, attentive service. Peking duck just perfect. This was all necessary as this is quite an expensive restaurant.
Best dumplings in Melbourne! Thank God it’s local! Go often for a good fill of Xao Long Bao! Yum! Chilli Wontons and chicken ribs amazing too!
Very good yum cha dishes, unfortunately we had a later time than usual and some of the trolley dishes weren’t as hot as usual. Overall a reliable yum cha experience.
we had a banquet which was nice but 3 times they gave us the wrong food and it was extremely loud. Not sure what you can do with loud customers 🤔
Very good food, great service and excellent value. Comfortable seating and no crowded tables. Able to book easily at at a time that suits rather than early or late sitting
Great service. Not rushed as with some other yum cha sittings in weekends. Food excellent and authentic Cantonese. Reasonable choice although not If you are looking for the more exotic yum cha dishes.
Service and quality of food is excellent. Try the Chilli wan tons. The Yum char and peking duck are not to be missed. highly recommended.
Best dumplings in Melbourne, hands down, and believe me, Ive tried them all. Number 1 and 2 on the menu are the picks, Xiao long Bao and the chilli wontons
Good food, waiters were very helpful. All requirements were met that were requested. Good atmosphere. Will definitely go back. Very accommodating of what was requested
Lovely atmosphere in the restaurant, well decorated and comfortable dining. Excellent and attentive service without being intrusive. The food was fantastic. A divine experience overall
Food was excellent, and service also. The only downside was that the restaurant was noisy, largely due to a group of 6 at the next table. I wouldn’t however let that put me off, and would go back again.
Great dumplings and ambience! You never feel rushed and staff today with the trolleys were really friendly and offered great service. The best way to enjoy Yum Cha in my opinion.
Food was quite expensive comparing to similar class yum cha restaurants in Melbourne. Service was quite poor comparatively also. Some of the food was actually cold by the time it was trolley over to our table. Quite unfortunate as I was really looking forward to discovering something new.
