Indian Mahal Restaurant’s menu of South Asian specialties is as about as extensive as you can get. For first timers to this fine Melbourne restaurant, we highly recommend trying out some of the barbecue tandoori specials like the vegetarian tandoori mushrooms, garlic chicken kebab or pork tikka cooked with spices, tomato and onion. Spice lovers are crazy for the goat mahal spicy curry, a dish consisting of boneless pieces of goat cooked in a velvety coconut and tomato sauce. The desserts on offer at Baxter’s Indian Mahal Restaurant are also excellent – try the pistachio kulfi for a sweet finish.
Fantastic meals - really enjoyed all the meals Staff were very good We recommend for everyone to try, we have been back a few times now and the food has always been excellent. Thank you for a good night out
Such a great place. Great food, staff & atmosphere. Love our local Indian! We will be back here in no time. Thank you Indian Mahal!
Our visit was on a busy Friday night. The restaurant was full and there was a constant stream of take away orders. This all blurred into the background when the food arrived. The servers were attentive but unobtrusive. When it was obvious that we had over ordered for entree our server offered to bag some of it so we wouldn't spoil our main course. Great advice. Entire meal was delicious, main dishes kept warm on table, generous serves and nice range of breads. We ended up with a good sized doggy bag that we were assured is better the day after. We had heard good things about this restaurant and our only regret was that we hadn't visited earlier. Looking forward to our tasty leftovers.
