Inti Gourmet is perfect for an early meal break driving from Melbourne towards the Mornington Peninsula, perched on the Nepean Highway in Chelsea right by the water at Bonbeach. It’s homely, welcoming and really tasty Peruvian food here, served with big smiles by the lovely staff who are clearly passionate about their South American cuisine and excited to be able to share it. In fact, Inti Gourmet is worth a special trip in itself, predictably good for ceviche (a version with lime-cured fresh snapper) and tamales but also offering generous portions of amazing BBQ meats, traditional desserts and some lesser known South American dishes that prove Inti Gourmet is the local authority on Peruvian food – try the unforgettable Aji de Gallina, a slow-cooked chicken stew with walnuts, parmesan cheese and some delicious secret ingredients.
