Jalisco Mexican - Chapel St

Used to like Jalisco when they just opened. However the food quality and taste has been disappointing the last couple of times

Quick service, yummy food and an overall relaxed vibe on a hot Thursday night! My fave was the prawn tacos but I was also pleasantly surprised by the pineapple in the beef taco! All washed down with a refreshing Mojito. Tick tick tikcs all 'round.

Food was fresh, staff were friendly but could have paid a bit more attention. A better wine list and music at slightly lower levels would have given this a perfect rating. Lots of fun and good vibes and authentic food.

Great experience all round. Tacos were amazing, fresh, authentic flavours and ingredients. Staff were really cheerful. Bar at the front in great too but we ate in the courtyard out the back, great on a warm night. Relatively casual atmosphere and not expensive.

Jalisco has lots of promise! We had dinner with a group of friends. The food was delicious - everyone was happy with their mains which included both chicken and beef faquitas, enchiladas and quesadillas. The pre-dinner chips were the best we’ve had in Australia (we used to live on the Mexico border so we know a good chip). The guacamole and with black bean dip were also good but unfortunately, they only give you a small amount of chips with the dips so we had to order more several times and it took a while to get them. Overall, the service needs some polish. Our server didn’t know the menu very well and mixed up drink orders. That said, we’ll be back - it’s easily the best Mexican food we’ve had in a long time. If they added authentic queso dip to the menu we might go every few weeks!

Service was very slow in the beginning and there wasn’t many people there. Staff could have been friendlier. Cocktails were very nice and food average

Great food, service, good vibe to restaurant. Nachos were really tasty (large is a good serving size for 2 people) and the frozen margaritas were a treat.

Very good food, good service. I had chicken fajitas & chorizo taco and they were delicious. The beer was very cold and I’d definitely say the whole experience was great value for money.

Food nice, staff friendly (although quite pushy to get us to order food when we first arrived). Don’t go for the magarita’s you will be disappointed - we were.

Everything was amazing! Literally couldn’t fault this place! ☺️ Frozen margaritas, nachos, burritos, atmosphere, wait staff, even the prices were surprisingly reasonable! Will definitely return again 👍🏽

Loved the food. The portion sizes were big. The chicken fajitas were yummy! If you are looking for a quiet place to have a chat, this isn’t the place though, although the Mexican music was 👌🏻

Great staff. Great dessert. Stupendous cocktails! Loved the vibe and atmosphere. Will definitely return for some Mexican fare in the future. Oh, and more cocktails.

Really enjoyed a Friday evening out with friends here. Great value and will be back again! Food was really good and very reasonably priced as were drinks.

Jalisco is a great spot for real, authentic mexican food. Their fish tacos are probably one of the best around town, and their Jalisco Spice margaritas are amazing!

Service - friendly and efficient Restaurant - warm, welcoming, trendy with cool decor Food - WOW! Highly recommend the corn, prawn taco and chicken quesadilla Will definitely be back, the 30 minute drive to get there was well worth it.

The food was great - we had tacos and nachos (highly recommend fish tacos) but the service was not the best hence the four stars.

The beef fajitas were delicious, but they seemed to want to get us out so they could close up (our booking was for 7, we left about 8:45/9). We had picked desserts and coffees that we all wanted, but were never offered, so they lost out on another $40 or so as we went somewhere else. A dissapointing end to what was otherwise a lovely meal

Great food and amazing margaritas! The food is reasonably priced and the ambiance is great. Love the outside courtyard, cute fairy lights and plant surrounds. A must go if your after a more authentic experience!

Food wasn't too bad but the staff had their heads in their phones half the time. Made us feel like we were putting them out for being there.

Went there for our sons birthday ...the food was amazing and the service was great...didn't have to wait long for food...... Will definitely be back..

We had a group booking here and I think the large space is great for that. Jalisco had a great atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food!

Chilli con carne dip and fajitas were both amazing. Service was great and the price was very reasonable, Margaritas were pretty good too. We will definitely be returning!!

Friendly yet slow service was over shadowed by the remarkably poor food... i have cooked a better fajita at home using a microwave, a mouldy onion and a tin of cold sardines. There are many many other alternatives in Melbourne for Mexican food, try all of those first, and if they are all full, eat an onion.

Our table had other people sitting there at the time we arrived unfortunately we did have a rather large booking of 15 however the wait time did seem excessive, some of the orders were incorrect, the wait time on a bottled beer was 30mins (it must have been missed) & my meal arrived cold and with Beef instead of chicken as ordered. The replacement meal was hot. Wait staff did their best to address the issues however i feel these things can be avoided considerably with some extra communication.

They sat us on a table and then about 10 minutes later came and moved us to a different table with no explanation. Service was poor, the waiters obviously had very little training. Food was ok, but not good enough to offset the poor service.

Service and food were very good. I had the burrito, it was yum and full of flavour. Also loved the back ground music. I will definitely go back again.

The staff were very helpful and friendly! Great service with satisfactory food. Everything came out quite quickly and our large group of 12 were accommodated comfortably.

Excellent food, excellent service. Come highly recommend. Close to transport. Have been plenty of times and would def go back again. Great location enjoyable evening.

A most enjoyable dinner, delicious food and great ambiance. The service could have been more attentive, but it was friendly and we had no complaints otherwise.

My favourite Mexican restaurant in Melbourne. Great food, great service, couldn't get much better authentic food. Try the stuffed jalepenos and out of all the mains I'm yet to try one i haven't named my new favourite! Awesome place!

I came on a Saturday night with my family for my birthday dinner. It's the third time I've been to Jalisco, and it is amazing every time I go! The wait staff are friendly and happy to answer questions, the service is prompt. And the food is amazing!! It tastes so fresh and is full of flavour. I recommend the stuffed jalapeños, street tacos and fajitas!! Will definitely be coming back again, it's now my favourite Mexican restaurant!
