Love Japan Inn’s food. Absolutely delicious. It’s always very busy, and can get noisy, but that’s probably because the food is exceptional.

The sushi and sashimi is such high quality. Great food

Newly renovated, amazing Japanese. Has been our favourite for over 20 years and has not let us down. Great for gluten free options.

Renovations have improved the overall ambience of the restaurant. Food quality was excellent backed up by friendly service. A must go-to place for the locals.

The renovations have lost the inviting feel without the Japanese garden and is louder now! Food is always amazing!

I was just a little disappointed in the banquet meal. I felt it wasn’t as tasty as other dishes I have had off the menu in the past. Because there were four of us we opted for the banquet.

The ambiance was lovely. Our drinks took too long to come and we had to ask for them. The food was really good. Highly recommend the miso steak which was cooked to perfection. In the Nigiri, there was already a smear of wasabi under the seafood which took away our choice whether to have wasabi or not. We would have preferred without. Overall value for money and good food

Amazing food and great value! One of the better Japanese food I’ve had in Melbourne. We went on a Tuesday night and it was packed. Despite only having 2 servers in a packed restaurant, both servers were very attentive and always served with a big smile. Highly recommended!

Quality if the food wasn’t as good as it used to be. Most dishes were too oily noodles over cooked and eggplant undercooked. But the Service was great.

Service and food were excellent. Unfortunately the restaurant was a bit chilly!

We had the set menu. We found the miso soup was quite salty, we told the waiter and got a replacement. Other dishes were pretty good.

We go there every second Saturday, we used to rotate restaurants, but since the first time we went, we haven’t been elsewhere - amazing food, service and prices! There isn’t a single Japanese restaurant that offers even half of the food quality that we have had here - we highly recommend the gyu-tataki, sashimi and tatsuta-age!
