After a bit of searching we finally found Kittyhawk tucked away and offering a cosy retreat from the cold, windy night. We rewarded ourselves with some fine cocktails and the slow roasted lamb shoulder...comforting and delicious. Generous servings, great service and an extensive drinks menu will make a return visit a necessity...

Firstly we went there to listen to jazz and blues as the website indicated; arrived and was told there was no live music. Also I am a vegan; there were no vegan options on the menu; I asked if the chef could make one up for me and all I got was a plate full of slice raw veges! And paid far too much for that dish. In contrast, the staff were amazing, thank you.

Kitty Hawk has a really nice relaxed US diner vibe. It’s cosy and warm with booth seating round circular tables, making it easy for conversation within groups. The service was mostly attentive without being too formal, though occasionally it was hard to get staff’s attention as it was a busy Saturday night. There is a very extensive drinks menu and aThe food was great, with the steaks being cooked exactly the way we’d requested, even the one ordered blue, which is not always a given in Sydney. The side of green beans was delicious. The dessert menu was rather limited with just a choice of 3, one being cheese. The creme brûlée was delicious but the chocolate option was a bit of a let down and didn’t taste homemade. They don’t serve coffee which seemed odd. It was a shame there was no live music on a Saturday night anymore as there had used to be. This would have made the experience even better. Overall, we had a great time.

Kittyhawk is a lovely setting. Relaxing and on a Monday night a bit quieter than later in week. We loved this as we could chat. Food was delicious, we shared the lamb shoulder after a delicious charcuterie. Could not fault. Service was efficient. Will definitely return.

Amazing atmosphere, and really good food. The music was excellent, but the overall noise levels made it a bit hard to hear each other, and for the staff to hear food and drink orders (we got some lovely croquettes instead of a baguette :) )

Great service, they were very attentive. Cocktails are fabulous but our mains left a little to be desired. It's very much a bar so was reasonably loud for a dinner date. Great vibe and we enjoyed our evening.

Our main server was lovely, and usually worked at a different venue. The rest were average, but she made up for it. It was noisy, but that is to be expected for after work drinks on a Friday. Food was tasty, but portion a little on the small side. Vegetarian Gnocchi was delicious

Staff were nice and attentive - although as it got more packed, understandably, it was harder to get staff attention to pay bill. Definitely a favourite haunt.

Great service, maybe a simplified menu would be better as I didn't know what to order in terms of cocktails & drinks. Had to ask the staff but she didn't have any idea.

Should have been so much more! Purchased a cudo voucher for a "French dinner" with wine. Limited menu but included a slow cooked shoulder of lamb to share (Navrin D’agneau) ordered and out came crispy chat potatoes, green leaf salad and a small rack of lamb very rare. The wife asked for it to be cooked longer, or medium, but came back out rare one end so gave up and thankfully they accepted a new order of barramundi beautifully cooked, however in the meantime the crispy chat potatoes were left to languish on the table cold and uncrispy and of course not replaced. Could have been so much better. Overall it's more of a bar than a restaurant and should stick to bar related food even if French, very noisy too but music was great very nice band but didn't feel compelled to stay...⅞
