With two restaurants in the city, Lazat Malaysian Restaurant are well versed in serving up delicious Malaysian cuisine to the hungry people of Melbourne. Located on Ballarat Road, the Sunshine branch is the place to go for laksa and other Malaysian favourites, open for both lunch and dinner seven days a week. We suggest kicking your meal off with some BBQ pork buns or the siu mai (steamed dim sim) before moving on to some seafood curry laksa, nasi lemak or kung po chicken. With its friendly hospitality, casual vibe and menu full of authentic Malaysian dishes, Lazat Malaysian Restaurant can fill up quickly. Be sure of snagging a seat at this Sunshine hotspot by booking a table in advance!
Lazat has a pleasant atmosphere and staff are friendly. Food was good and tasty and presentation was also good although we prefer the taste of the meal to the presentation. Some serves were a little on the small side. The couple with us were from Bentleigh and said the Teriyaki Beef was a little tuff, didn't come apart easily and not as tasty as it should have been which I agree but overall the other meals were very tasty. There was a chef with us and this was his second visit and said the food was very good which I agree. We will be coming back again.
My family took me to Lazat, Sunshine for Fathers day. We have been there before for lunch and dinner and also for lunch during the week. The food is always good and served promptly in a friendly manner by the girls. I also live this restaurant as the table and chairs are very comfortable unlike some other Malayasian restaurants that have cheap aluminium table and chairs that are not very comfortable.
Food was great and price was very reasonable as well. The wait time for food was a bit long, but staff were friendly and courteous. It's definitely a nice place for good Malaysia food.
