Two of Sydney’s favourite things – a good macchiato and wood-fired pizza – are on offer at this CBD Italian pizzeria and coffee roastery. But there’s more besides that at Macchiato, including pasta dishes, a fantastic selection of wine, and menus covering breakfast, lunch, dinner, set menus and food and drinks packages. Macchiato’s kitchen is a buzzing place, where an eminently Australian sense of cafe culture meets the traditional energy of an Italian restaurant, and it’s this passion and sense of hospitality that has made Macchiato’s Pitt Street address a default destination for the city’s shoppers and professionals, and those looking to find a good venue for a function or celebration. Grab a coffee and some baked goodness from the streetside hole in the wall, step inside for wine and some small plates, or check out the live music every Tuesday.
Good food, a tad slow on taking drinks order when we arrived, which prolonged our stay there. Friendly staff and caters for gluten free patrons which is great.
