Dumplings were great but the curried noodle dish was pretty terrible.
We booked Miami rice but were placed next door due to a big market happening. We had to leave early as it was so hot in there. All the tables around us left also for the same reason. The doors had to be closed due to the rain which is understandable but there was no fresh air or air con so we had to leave. Shame as we had a group of 15 that planned on having drinks after our meal. Also no kids menu and we were told that we couldn’t bring food from downstairs up so two of the kids just had chips for their meal.
amazing food service and atmosphere. found us a table for six very quickly. we have already told lots and lots of people abut this place - we will be back
Disappointing no atmosphere and did not realise you had to get your own knives and forks and food & drinks came in Dribs and drabs. I thought it had deterioted in last 12 months.
Too loud music and slow service. Menu was not too exciting ether We ended up having a drink and changed the venue. Sorry, I would not whinge but you’ve asked.
Service was slow and gave us non attention. When I ask Ed for water I was told to ge it myself, after I’d spent $500 on a meal and cocktails.
It was a great venue but there were multiple Xmas parties on and only one bartender on for most of the afternoon. He was lovely and attentive but it would've been overwhelming for anyone with that crowd. Great job Louie!
Very disappointed with the food and the mangers response when it was discussed. The schnapper was grey and lying in a pool of oil. I would be so questioning how old the schnappper was prior to cooking. The beef was presented very very raw . The manager accepted our complaint about the schnapper but tried to argue that more than 50 percent of the beef had been eaten. We were a group of 4 mature local men that had each tried a piece and all came to the same conclusion. We were all sharing the two main meals. Further to that the manager then proceeded to tell me I was acting as though I was “entitled “. I am certainly not entitled and take great offence to that but also have a big understanding of service and food standards. We are all locals and frequent Manly restaurants a lot and very much appreciate the standards elsewhere but not at yours unfortunately. Your managers response was far from appropriate and she handled the situation very poorly. Please pass this onto her manager.
We were never attended to. Every time we needed something we’d have to get up and find someone. Our dishes were never cleared. We asked for a cake knife and lighter and nobody brought us one for 20 minutes. We had to go ask again and she said another group was using it. I’m confused why they only had one cake knife and why we weren’t told earlier or given the lighter first. At the start of the night, we ordered drinks via the QR code and had to go to the bar to check after not receiving it for 20 minutes. The two bartenders just looked confused and did not even rush to make it after we had to remind them. The place was beautiful but the service was really poor. The waiters literally never came to us unless dropping off food. I had to ask them to clear the dishes before the cake. She picked up one pile of dishes and left the rest there. Not sure if it was because we were a younger group of people but we definitely felt neglected compared to the other people dining there.
Place was dead for a Friday night in Manly so no atmosphere. Cockroaches crawling beside you as you sat out on the balcony off putting. Food not that memorable- tossed Asian veges sloppy-not my cup tea. All up experience..so so.
Staff were rude and food was average, wouldn’t go again
Food was really nice, but it was hard find staff to order.
We had a great meal there, the food was delicious, it was a little noisy but it was fine. The staff were OK, sat us down, didn't bring menus or didn't explain the menu at all. We had to find the menus ourselves and ask how to order etc as there was no QR code to order at our table. Other than that we totally enjoyed our dinner.
The dining experience was fair. Felt a bit out of sight out of mind. The location is great due to the amount of people we had. Could accomodate 9 of us plus a baby with a pram as there was no table big enough. The food was fair.
It was my birthday so I really didn't order anything but my guests said they loved the place !!
Lovely lunch . Food was fabulous. Great view. Nice staff. Surprise Mothers Day Hungerford Wines gift pack for Mums was a nice touch. Will be back for sure
The space is good for groups. The menu isn't good for groups. It's appropriate for sit-down diners, but groups need large finger-food plates at more reasonable prices. $25 for 6 dumplings isn't a realistic price to feed groups. A large plate with (say) 10 dumplings, 10 spring rolls, 10 wontons for $45 would be a better offering.
We were a bit disappointed with the overall experience. We sat at two different tables (the first had a drop from the ceiling) and both were super sticky. You order at the bar but apart from that it was hard to find any floor staff so a bit disjointed. Great place for a drink and a nibble but not for a nice dinner/meal.
I’ll be back! Love the rooftop bar, service was good.
Service was non existent . We left . Don’t waste your money here
The service was non existent. Some of the food was fine and some was completely inedible. The balcony was absolutely gorgeous! I recommend a quiet drink here with lovely view. Eat somewhere else
Lovely food matching a lovely view over the beach at Manly
I made reservations about 3 weeks in advance and i asked for table for 10 people outside with the views I also went there 2 weeks before the booking I spoke to the lady who takes reservations and chose the table I wanted she said no problem when I got there they gave me 2 tables at the back with no view The food its not good to So disappointed
Food was great. Service was great. But...it was very loud!
No one was around to seat us. There was no booking. The food was very average. We left after starters.
No service at all and the food was ordinary at best.
We loved the three designated areas and the Corso balcony We feel the ‘Orchid’ Room could have long ‘booth’ type seating 1200 high with the small balcony to be heavily planted to avoid viewing in void. We back !!!
Loved it, would definitely come again … thank you …
The service was very bad , food was average . No table services , I hate qr code ordering . This is so impersonal…
Couldn’t find the room and service lacked we had to get our own serviette swap broken bowl and clean our own table
Excellent service. Ordered through the QR Code with no issues. Food was delicious and filling. Great selection of beers and nice atmosphere. 🍺👍🇦🇺
The service was slow at the bar & the food also took its time & as we were there for a Christmas party we got kicked out for have a little bit of fun which I think was ridiculous.
Good service nice atmosphere great food that was reasonable in price
Unfortunately the volume of the music is too high for conversation over dinner. As this is a dining area, I do think the volume could be low and just background music. The louder people have to talk it seems the louder the music is and so begins a cycle of increasing noise level. I would not recommend this venue for dinner due to the noise level.
Great view from the balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Delicious food at a reasonable price.
Very disappointing - you guys need more staff. We arrived on time no one was there at the desk to show us to our table so we found it ourselves. Our table was filthy with dirty plates & glasses which we also cleared ourselves which was totally unacceptable. We ordered via QR and waited 50 minutes for our drinks arrive so we had to go to the bar in the meantime. Looking around the restaurant tables were full of dirty dishes it was gross. We won’t be back ☹️
Massively overpriced food and not a very wide selection of dishes. We ate in the rooftop bar section of The Steyne which was dirty and lacked atmosphere. Considering the great location there are huge missed opportunities. Overall the 12 of us had a very average night although our bank account would have us believe we ate and drank at Pilu….
Rough conditions, no staff on service on Saturday night. Waited 40 mins for a drink and was never offered any dinner options so we left and found somewhere else to have dinner.
Great service, ordinary food. Duck dishes were good, the remainder was dry and bland.
Table, place mats and plates and bowls were dirty. Chairs were dirty too. Not much assistance to get additional cutlery. No clean bowls available. Food was ordinary. Disappointed in what I thought would be a high end pub restaurant.
we had a great time, good food, great service and a fun time had.
We booked and sat at our table for at least 20 mins with no one greeting us or acknowledging us. We called a waitress over to ask if we needed to order at the bar or if it was table service. Her reply was ‘I’m not sure I will go and check’. Sorry but we walked out.
Very tasty meal had the banquet plenty of food and good quality.
The food was good but we had to wait a long time for it to be delivered to the table.
For the first time in 3 different attempts to eat at Miami Rice, all of which have been all messed up by the staff at the restaurant, this time, was great! Not too many people there on a wet Sunday afternoon...the food was really good, so I'm finally able to change my view of this place.
Great food, great atmosphere! Happy and polite service. Fun experience.
Multiple floors and good priced wine but booked for top floor which had a private event on. But nice place to be by the beach
Food took ages to arrive, given it was NYE we didn’t complain but there was hardly anyone in the restaurant. Dishes didn’t arrive all together. Who wants your sides before the main? Rice was cold and dry, the tofu overcooked and if you like your food very salty then this is the place to eat.
Our family visited for Asian style food and drinks which were great. Tasty, delicious and reasonably priced. If I could make one suggestion would be for the venue to provide a quiet dining area. The music was very loud. Could barely hear ourselves speak. Also as you place the order via a QR code, the food will arrive and there is no plates and cutlery to commence eating. Perhaps this needs to be looked at? These are minor issues though and we will frequent again when next in Manly.
Food wasn't great. The chicken wings were way too salty. Service wasn't good. The rice was bought last AFter we finished all the main dishes. Not one smile on the waiters' faces. Too loud to even talk a little. Wouldn't go again
