Here in Ipswich, North Ipswich’s Riverlink Shopping Centre to be precise, Montezuma’s offers the same colourful atmosphere, an Aztec-themed temple dedicated to unveiling the mysteries of Mexican cuisine. There’s depth besides, though, with a menu packed with finely tuned Mexican classics. Find Montezuma’s North Ipswich restaurant by heading to the Riverlink Shopping Centre, turning down Heiner Road off The Terrace or walking up the Bremer River from Pine Street. Inside, slake your thirst and pique your curiosity with Montezuma’s signature sangria (also available as a less punchy non-alcoholic option), famous margaritas, Mexican and domestic beers, and peruse the satisfyingly comprehensive food menu. A Speedy Gonzales combinacion or the vegetarian and gluten-free Vera Cruz are a good bet (there’s a standalone vegan menu, too), but remember to leave room for postres – churros!
