Montezuma's Mexican Restaurant & Bar, Parkdale

The place was dark, drab and cliche with nic naks hanging from the ceiling. The sticky tables, menus and cheap napkins were a turn off. The staff used pot holders to serve food. The food itself was lifeless, tasteless and seasoning free. Not even a hint of iconic Mexican flavours let alone salt and pepper. The chicken in the nachos resembled a chew toy, the rice was bland and the pulled beef in the taco tasted like it was just boiled in water. I shall never return and spread the word for others to do the same.

Absolutely loved our food , drinks (margaritas) absolutely awesome, lovely, helpful staff couldn’t do enough for us and we were very happy. We will be back 😊

waited for 40 minutes to be able to order as the restaurant was understaffed. The ambience was nice but all the dishes for the 4 of us came out just average.

Food was great as always but the service was not that good

Very tasty food - as always - and good value. But service was a bit average - clearly requested no ice in one drink but it arrived with ice but quickly rectified. Another drink never arrived until re-ordered.

We went to Montezuma's regularly when we lived in Sydney, and also on the Gold Coast and Brisbane. The Parkdale experience did not fail: great service, reliably delicious food, tasty sangria and good choices of tequila and mezcal. One improvement would be ordering by phone.

Always love my Mexican. Due to COVID-19 there as no real atmosphere but other times we have been It has been good. Great to get out at last. Great friendly service,good food but the chilli con carne that we had for an entree was a bit runny but tasty.

Incredibly disappointing meal. 5/5 people in our party said it was substandard. My tacos were fish and chicken and could hardly find fish. Full of red onion. Sangria was mulled wine not Sangria.

Poor service, on several occasions we waited 20 mins plus for our drinks...no water provided for the table...food average

After recently returning from Mexico I can say the food here was not the fresh well cooked food you get in Mexico. Here it was poorly cooked and at best food court or frozen meal slop. Service was fine and we had a good night but food was average at best.
