Food was amazing and great value. Great music and atmosphere

So we chose the "I am a Royal menu" This is essentially a menu chosen by the chef with a selection of shared tastings. The atmosphere on Saturday night was noisy. The menu was stunningly good until the main, which was duck. This was underwhelming and dry. Dessert was fantastic. Overall a great menu. Service good however arrived at 6pm with a hour window for dinner as this is the set time frame. The main was delivered with only 30 minutes to spare and we needed to move a separate side table for dessert. So a lovely experience but room for some improvement.

Eat here every year for my birthday. The food & service is always amazing. I think the feed me menu this year is a little less filling than previous (we always do the feed me). Granted the front area is meant to be finer dining (than the bar area) a little more needs to be done to enhance that experience eg. lower the bar music just a little (or even different/better music), keep the restaurant toilet just for restaurant patrons (rather than groups of screaming girls from the bar) etc Overall a good experience- will be back.

Extremely disappointing! We never received any sushi! And my friend is celiac so they couldn’t accommodate her. Not worth the $60 pp

Our group loved every element of our visit to MJ! The food, drinks, staff and venue were all outstanding. Absolutely loved the Sip and Sushi option and the RnB band in the Sunday afternoon!

Extremely disappointing! Servings were tiny and overpriced and the carrot and miso dish was off and we had to send it back! We came expecting a great night for my daughters 18th bday and left hungry and disappointed!

The most terrible experience at a restaurant ever! Got some meals, then waited 80 minutes for the rest... dumplings ... takes 2 mins to cook. Apparently Most of our order and drinks went to another table. Will never ever go back there to eat. Useless. Plus the food was useless too.

I took my partner here for his birthday as Japanese is his favourite cuisine. The service was impeccable and the staff were so lovely! The atmosphere is super funky! We will be back here for sure! Also, I never choose the chefs menu as I like to know what is coming out but given that everything sounded amazing on the menu we went with the “I’m a royal” it was the best decision! Explained our dietary requirements and they made sure we were well looked after! Overall 10/10

The host was lovely and the guy looking after the table was very hospitable I'd love that my friends were able to share a bottle of Moet for my special 30th birthday thank you

Too many people, shite atmosphere & waited forever for drinks

Great service and delicious food. More veggie options would be great though.

Was told i only booked for 10 people, therefore two people were short. Waitress was very rude and did not bring all drinks that we ordered. Also told that we weren’t allowed to order meals, only shared plates.

Asked 3 times for cutlery to eat my food and only got it once I left the table to ask. As well my friend waited well over an hour for her entree while others on the table who ordered mains a time after her received their meal.

Cocktails were great and good service just let down by the food. Not much variety and not the best tasting with the exception of the sashimi

Disgusting! The pork Belly was so fatty it made me sick. You needed an axe to cut through the beef! Very dissenting

The man who introduced us into the restaurant was so attentive. He explained the menu perfectly for our dietary requirements, he was fantastic! Then there is the food which was absolutely devine and immaculately presented and the salted caramel martini was out of this world! Highly recommend!!
