New to Cottesloe in 2016 is Ocean Spice Cafe, and with it comes fresh seafood and some of the most delicious Thai and Vietnamese cuisine in Perth. Yep, we said it – Perth isn’t short of fine places to eat Asian-inspired food, but the menu here is humble, excellently priced and packed full of flavour. You can find Ocean Spice Cafe on Eric Street where you’re so close to the ocean you’ll be able to smell the salt. Inside, things are relaxed and the food will put a smile on your face. Not many Thai or Vietnamese restaurants are good enough to be able to open two branches in the same city, but Ocean Spice Cafe in Perth has done just that. This one is wonderfully located on Eric Street in Cottesloe, and if we do say so ourselves, it’s the perfect spot for casual dining, whether with friends, family or for a little bit of the old romance. The restaurant itself is no frills, tastefully decorated with wicker chairs, a cool tiled floor and simple tablecloths. There’s the option to sit out front if you feel like catching some sea breeze but, regardless of where you’re sat, you can count on the service being attentive, warm and welcoming.
To give you an idea of the menu at Cottesloe’s Ocean Spice Cafe, the focus is as we said on fresh Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Consider a Penang seafood curry, a beef massaman or a prawn red curry.
