Of all the casual dining spots in Williamstown, one you certainly can’t afford to miss is the Rose of Australia Hotel – it’s perfect for pub food with friendly service and exceptional value. Under new ownership, this is a restaurant that’s warm and inviting, decked out stylishly with neutral colours and ambient lighting. Enjoy food throughout the day and consider a starter of salt & pepper calamari, followed perhaps by a famous Rose burger or something from the grill. Of course, there are also pub favourites in the way of bangers and mash, chicken parma and all the usual suspects. To be found nestled away Ferguson Street, the Rose of Australia is wonderful and charming. Head over from Melbourne and reserve a table now.
Quaint pub a bit run down, however has a beautiful log fire in the main bar, and smaller one in the bistro area, where we watched a local band named Recovered. The food was of plentiful size servings and quite tasty, the waitress and bar Lady, was very jovial, polite, and even arranged a Doggie Bag so to speak lol in an Aluminum Tray with a lid. An enjoyable experience. Stephen Cox
