For proper Thai cuisine in Richmond, your best bet is to head straight to Rustic Thai Kitchen on Victoria Street. Just steps from Melbourne’s North Richmond station, this relaxed Thai restaurant has foodies buzzing, and we can’t help but buzz a little too, especially about the food. Start your flavour adventure with a bowl of tom yum, tom kha or clear soup before selecting from an impressive range of stir-fried delights, tasty noodles, perfectly cooked fried rice and a variety of chef’s recommendations. We love seafood specialities like the soft shell crab with garlic and pepper, pla lard prig (crispy barramundi with chilli and basil sauce) and the rockling fish with black pepper sauce, but you also can’t go wrong with classics like red duck curry and the Rustic Thai green curry. Don’t wait any longer. Experience the glory that is Rustic Thai Kitchen after booking ahead!
Delicious food and attentive customer service, but sadly the waiter confused our order and gave us Beef Salad instead of Yum Yum Beef with vegetables. We only realised when the bill came that it was not what we ordered, so we were a bit disappointed as Yum Yum Beef was featured on the menu as one of the Chef's Specials. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others, but would strongly encourage customers to be very clear with the wait staff when placing their order, particularly with respect to allergies or dietary requirements, so they don't end up with a dish they didn't ask for.
Dishes taste good and the setting is lovely, plus prices are very reasonable. Everyone in our party of four had a good feed and we'll all definitely come back!
An excellent evening, delicious food well presented, wonderful surroundings and magnificent conversation s Service was prompt and friendly will return in the new year thank you
