Fast efficient service, delicious food. A favourite pre-concert meeting place with friends.

The food is always delicious and fresh. Our favourite is the Duck and Lychee curry but its a hard choice as everything else we have tried we have liked also. Thanks to the chef and staff. Would like to see a little more attention to the state of the ladies though.

Food was great, full of flavour and value for money.

I allowed an hour for a quick meal, before going to a concert. I Iet our waiter know the time we needed to leave & he was attentive & helpful. Great service, good variety of dishes & wines at reasonable prices. Our party of 6 had a lovely dinner & made it out with plenty of time to get to the concert.

We were very impressed with the food and the service.. The shaking beef is devine..

Good food. Pleasant staff who double checked things without being asked. Good location. Would definitely go again. 5 stars because I just got a sense that things were a little chaotic in there and they were rushing around and the venue wasn't even half full. Didn't give me much confidence that they could handle it if things got really busy.

Food was excellent, service was also excellent. View over the river was amazing. The range of meals was very good. The waitress's knowledge of the menu was also very good.

Excellent location with table for 2 at the terrace to enjoy beautiful views. The service was very friendly and attentive. We had the special New Year menu which was limited choice... perhaps the normal menu would offer more choice

Food was average. Too sweet for my palate and I hail from Singapore where there is some seriously good Vietnamese food. The fried tofu with chilli and pepper was tasty. The pad thai was very disappointing, was more sweet than anything else.

Nice food- wide variety however specials not well displayed. The prawns were local and nice vegetables. The food did lack a little wow factor. Wine list is not too bad.

We always enjoy the food at Southern Star. A fantastic range of flavours for reasonable cost. Try the Duck in Lychee Curry for something different.

Had dinner there before going to Concert Hall. Food was delicious, great service and very reasonably priced. BYO wine, which was a bonus for us. Will definitely go back again

Once again we took upon ourselves to take another friend along to what has now become one of our favourite restaurants, and again all had a very enjoyable meal. One thing that always seems so humorous to us however, is that the staff must acquire a little more training in the ordering dept.. we always seem to have our order mixed up, dishes don't appear, or mains come out with entrées, and we've even had a soup appear last!! Needs a strong management role to rectify service, but having said this we do love the friendly, bustling, happy little staff, so all is forgiven in the end!! Food is still authentic and terrific. Viva Faulty Towers!!!!

Our entire evening was ruined. The entrees too 45 minutes to be served and onlyb1 main course arrived even though we asked several times where they were. We had to leave as we had tickets to the theatre. My children had no dinner . Other customers had the same problem. They should take less bookings or employ more competent staff. Could not recommend.

The staff were very pleasant and attentive, great food, lots of choices, handy location, clean restaurant and reasonably priced - thank you, we will be back.

They comfortably accommodated my party of 12 people. It was excellent value at a top location and great that you can BYO wine. We'll definitely be back.

Sensational food!! Great environment too..!! So much flavour each dish and amazing vietnamise coffee. Great location with a beautiful view. Will definitely come back every time I feel like Vietnamese cousine.

Lovely restaurant with river views. The food was really tasty. We had the squid and sizzling vegetables and Saigon chicken. Enjoyed every mouthful. The staff were very friendly. Will definitely go again.

Good food at reasonable prices and the BYO wine keeps the price down. The service is good & the location is very nice with parking nearby

Always enjoy meals here . Fresh tasting dishes . Only criticism is that duck salad has very little duck . Perhaps best dishes could be hilighted .

Very nice food, attention to acoustic environment to improve noise level would be advantages. I requested music volume to be reduced which improved the comfort. I generally order Satay with steamed fish as one dish, S-Star only had battered fish, sauce was good. The Jasmine Rice did not arrive until I reminded them. Regards Richard

The duck salad was excellent and the location is beautiful as the sun sets. Casual vibe and pleasant service, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Good and quick service. Nice experience as numerous times before. I can only recommend this restaurant to other patrons - location if absolutely breath taking.

Ambience & location excellent, food when you get it excellent - not open enough days. Tried to order dessert - cake special not available - first choice not available - second choice only 1 left ....

Pleasant setting overlooking the park and river. We enjoyed our food, but prefer to eat at the same time. My husband had almost finished before my meal arrived.

The food was really nice, however the service was a bit slow. We had to ask to order drinks and then food and then when we wanted more water. Wait staff could be a bit more attentive.

We were very impressed, food was great, fresh and tasty with good size servings. Plenty of choices on menu. Staff friendly and attentive and great location as well.

Took a family party over from UK for the test match and had a very enjoyable evening. Food was excellent,but suggest you supply coolers for the wine.

Food not as good as it used to be. Also telling by the fact that the restaurant was almost empty. Wouldn't look to rush back.

We had a table of 6 booked. For a Monday night, they were quite busy with happy diners. The food was fresh , flavorsome and absolutely delicious. The service was great, very friendly staff. Highly recommended!

The food is amazing, although after being there several times the mains never come out to each guest together. We dined as a group as some individuals had finished their meal, prior to the last meal being delivered.

We were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food and wine which was served on the evening and we most likely will patronise your restaurant sometime in the future and recommend it to friends.

Toliets and walls and Overall restaurant could be cleaner. No music needs background music for atmosphere and lights very bright. Need more mood lighting. Food ok

We were a big group but the staff did their best to get food out at the same time and accomodate us. Food was lovely and best of all the seperate bill.

The food was amazing and very traditional, the service was excellent, the staff were very attentive and helpful, I will definitely be back, thanks for a great night, my only observation is, mood lighting would be good, it was a bit bright in there, and some soft traditional music playing in the background would only enhance the experience.

Great restaurant for lunch. Our booking for five grew to 7 at the last minute and even though they were very busy and there was only one waitress on the floor was it was handled without fuss. The food came out quickly and everyone loved their meals. Also very happy that we could split the bill. A lovely restaurant.
