Lovely food ! Mixup with the booking but quickly resolved and then proceeded to eat way too much ! Would definitely go back again and maybe try dessert this time
We loved the food which had fantastic flavour combinations from an net resting menu. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly the barman, but service was a little erratic. We would go back again for the rod.
This place rocks your taste buds - don't fret about how it sounds (jellyfish? chicken what?)...just order a bunch of stuff and enjoy enjoy enjoy!
Food and service was great but it felt more like a lunch cafe rather than a restaurant. Other than that everything was awesome. Funky place and yummy food
The food at this place is really tasty and very reasonably priced. Reminded us of the food you get in Singapore. Serving sizes are also good. Service was patchy, great at the beginning when we were the only table there, but we were ignored completely after another three tables arrived for over 20 minutes when waiting for the bill. Given that it's not a huge restaurant you would have thought they could provide slightly more attentive service. Would hate to see how they handle a full restaurant.
Had the best ribs I've ever eaten! Not something you would expect at a Malaysian restaurant but it was a nice surprise. The small meals which we had as entrees were also excellent, different and interesting. Highly recommend this great little eatery
Food was OK. Wine was delicious. Service was strange. They don't seem to have their act together yet, probably from being a new place. Place improves markedly as it gets darker
Great spot for casual Malaysian hawker style food. The stingray with sambal was one of our favorites and the chicken skin with jelly fish is a mouthful of great flavours. Service is a little wayward here but what the heck. Definitely value for money as Smith street can be pricey. Unfortunately the roasted duck in tamarind curry ran out....last time we had it, it was sensational. Desserts didn't quite hit the mark but Messina is across the road.
$35 chef selection was great amount of food! satisfied with the service , great decor and ambience. The coconut shake tastes exactly like cendol! Yummo!
My frist time at Sugar Prawn and I will be back again for sure! Staff were super friendly and helpful with the menu, food came out quick and was absolutely delicious! A +++++++++++ :)
