Wonderful food and friendly hospitality. Italian cuisine at its best . Pizza and pasta quality and size was like actually being fed in Italy at someone's home. Recommend highly.

Not as good as the experience I've had on previous occasions. The service was very slow even though they weren't that busy. We we there half a hour before anyone came near us to take our drinks order only after we kept asking. Apparently only the owner takes the orders! Overall the food was good we had the Zuppa de pesce, snapper (fish of the day) and lobster gnocchi but disappointed with the spinach and ricotta gnocchi which consisted of 4 large stodgy gnocchi, not what we expected. One of our guests told the waiter she couldn't eat it and sent more that half of it back but no one came to ask what the problem was! They also couldn't mix a drink of soda, lime & bitters. They tried 4 times but couldn't get it right!

Great food terrible service. Bad when we arrived and it took them 20 minutes to settle our bill. In between the service was sloppy. Would think again about going.

Dined with party of seven people. Tacco and Tosca was busy but service was still good. Menu is quite large and contains (regional?) Italian dishes I have not encountered before in Melbourne/Lygon Street Italian bistros. Choice was good, and dishes our party had were excellent. Service was efficient and timely. (We are fortunate to have a quality Italian restaurant in our neighborhood: previously we always went to Lygon Street for good Italian food - we are fortunate to have T & T at home!). Not cheap but not too expensive for the quality!)

Food was very authentic Tuscan fare. The restaurant was busy because all tables were occupied and there were a couple of groups. A seasonal specials menu is now available and our choices from that were delicious.

A pleasant vibrant family Restaurant, a bit of rustic Italy in Melbourne. We visited Saturday evening, very busy and long wait for service, several other tables did not wait. Food was tasty classic Italian, portions could happily be halved! Waiters young and friendly but need some more organisation, supervision .

This is an authentic casalinga type experience where you can either bring your family early to enjoy if your have young kids. You will believe your nonno and nonna are in the kitchen. We arrived a little later and enjoyed a beautiful calamari entree with plate of cheese and prosciutto. Mains were delicus ranging from traditional seafood soup to pasta with lobster. Seriously great food. Hope you enjoy as much as our group of 4 did.

Deceiving from the outside, Tacco and Tosca opens up toward the back of the restaurant to reveal a casual but elegant dining room. Service was superb, thoroughly enjoyable.

Tacco & Tosca is hands down the best Italian food I've had in Melbourne. It's amazing. Unfortunately, they seem to be having problems getting their workstream in order. Things don't arrive at the table at the same time, there's mixups on a pretty regular basis, you sometimes wait for an hour to get your food. Again, once it's there, it's AMAZING, but the wait can be troubling sometimes.

Authentic and delicious Italian food, complete with great and attentive service. Bellissimo! Be sure to try one of the beautiful wood fired pizzas followed by a heavenly pasta. Amazing Nutella and strawberry pizzas for the sweet tooth and plenty of gluten free options too.

2nd and last visit. Our main course arrived before we had finished our entree. Kids running between tables, delivered somebody else's entree, cap put back on our red wine after the first poor! General sense of havoc.

I booked Tacco and Tosca through Quandoo, for the first time. What led me to this is was I called the restaurant to make a reservation and no one answered the phone. There was no option to leave a message as the machine was full. I jumped online to their website and it directed to make a reservation. It was very easy and straight forward. I received an email confirmation within 15 minutes. Our reservation was in the booking diary, however there was not table for us. There were a lot of reserved tables, it was 6pm and tbls were reserved for 7.30pm. I advised them we'll be out by then. We loved our meal, the pasta was delicious, the Bruschetta flavorsome and we had to fit in dessert - profiteroles - they were delicious, lucky we shared. We look forward to going back again soon.
