When you think of Melbourne, it’s highly likely that the first things that come to mind are coffee and delicious food as this vast city is a mecca for foodies and caffeine connoisseurs looking for the next best thing. The Boot Factory is one such addition to the café scene with a philosophy centred on seasonal changes, local suppliers and sustainable produce – what’s more to love. Located in perhaps the most unusual of spaces, in the heart of Coburg The Boot Factory calls the grounds of Pentridge Prison home. With history seeping through its walls, baristas that for some coffee aficionados are god-like, and a team in the kitchen producing a wholesome, creative and strictly seasonal menu, there is no better place to add to the list than The Boot Factory on Pentridge Road. Just be sure to book to secure your spot.

Highly recommend this restaurant, food is delicious and interesting. The Confit Duck Scramble is yummy as was my friends medley of mushrooms.
The food was delicious and the cafe is interesting and vibrant. There seemed to be some less experienced staff on, maybe to cover January holidays? Overall The Boot Factory is one of my favs.
Tasty food and friendly staff but, oh boy, why does everything take so long to be served.....even to get a beer. And the place wasn't crowded when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. Just as well they didn't impose the 1 1/2 hour rule which we told about when booking online.
