“Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Staten, from the Bowery to the top of Manhattan…” - so sang the Beastie Boys in their 2004 classic “An Open Letter to NYC”. Consider The Boroughs of New York Pizza on Creek Street in the Brisbane suburb of Carindale as a tribute act to Mike D, MCA and Ad-Rock, with a selection of the finest food available in the 5 boroughs, focussing on the iconic flat and crispy pizzas that are associated with the city that never sleeps. Unfortunately this Westfield Shopping Centre-based Italian-inspired joint does sleep, unlike New York, and you’ll have to catch them from 9am onwards, but when you are there you can pick up pizzas, of course, as well as bagels, calzones, buttermilk pancakes and more modern American staples. We’re not sure if they serve big apples though, which is a slight disappointment, but we’re sure they can make it up in pizza form.
They had great onion rings. My favourite pizza was the meat packer's. I had an apple juice. I liked the look of the place too (Matthew, aged eight)
Pizza was very nice and drinks were great. Staff were friendly, service was good and ambience was nice. Would recommend this place to my family and friends
Chips and thick shake were amazing, staff friendly but the pizza was a bit lacking of toppings yet still tasty. Will be going back to try more soon
