The Groove Train – Southland

The staff were fantastic and the food was great. There were 12 of us, 8 x ten year old boys. Food was quick and the kids area helped a lot.

Food, service & atmosphere very enjoyable, highly recommended. Generous and delicious food, good choices too. The staff were attentive and the service quick. We often go there for family occasions and have the same experience.

Staff were nice the wait to order and for the meals took a while. Overall the place was just alright good for a catch up.

Groove train is usually known for its fast service and I knew that it would be longer than normal as it was Valentine’s Day however I had ordered and two other couples had arrived and ordered and their meals arrived before mine. We asked where the food was as we were going to a movie which was an hour and a half after we arrived and it was too late by the time that the food arrived. The servers were very apologetic and we received a discount on our food (which we had in takeaway boxes and took into the movies with us), we also recieved an extra $10 off for the next time we came. And we were also offered free drinks at the bar until our movie (which was in 2 minutes) which we declined but we were very thankful for the compensation.

Got there and without even requesting they had made up a table for Valentine’s Day! With wine and decorations. Absolutely spot on. Made me look like I went to more effort than I did 😂

We brought a group of 13, 10yr old boys for a birthday party and the staff were extremely accommodating despite the noise levels!). Great to be able to bring your own cake too.

We went there yesterday night，service was good，staffs were nice and portion is big ，over all . it is worth to go restaurant in a shopping center.

Actually, I love this Groove Train restaurant. It's nice and airy, open concept with a view of the movie trailers at Village Southland. Our waitress was excellent, I don't know her name, she has brown hair, and was Caucasian. We went for breakfast at 9:17am, Friday, February 2, 2018. She always smiled, and had a pleasant tone to her voice. And, she said happy birthday to me. If you need more information on who she was, I can give you some more details. Thank you.

Ordered two Nasi Goreng dishes when we really could have managed with one between the two of us! They were massive servings. Delicious, large proportion of varied meats in the dish, all topped off with a fried egg. Great service,convenient location and large range of food to choose from on the menu.

Food was great and was served to the table quite quickly, despite being busy. Staff were attentive and patient. We hadn't realised that everyone else had left, but they were very polite about it. Will definitely be back.

The waitresses were great. Very helpful.i chose the Nazi and it was so over cooked the rice mush. It was like mash potato. Very unhappy

Even though we had a lot of dietary requirements, the staff and service were lovely. We all enjoyed the food to celebrate my daughter's 7th birthday.

Good food delivered in a timely manner and the service was excellent. The drinks were reasonably priced and when we used vouchers there was no weird looks

It was okay for a while but it became noisy from the cinema previews being projected on the big screen nearby when people were coming out of movies.

The out of four meals came out on time, pizza would be another few minutes they said. Came back after a while and told us that the chef had burnt the pizza and had to start again!!

Food was delicious.We had corn fritters and big breakfast. Staff were very attentive and food was delivered hot. Coffee was good and strong, as requested.

We booked a table at 7:30. We arrived hungry with 3 young children. We ordered our food to be told that will would have wait 30 mins for our pizza. Although we weren't happy we waited anyway. After an hour of waiting it was too much. We definitely were far beyond hungry and angry. When our food finally arrived, the food was over cooked and horrible. To top things off, when we went to pay they initially over charged us. I put my foot down and made a huge complaint. Fortunately the manager and table staff were apologetic as they were aware things didn't go well for us and gave us 3 free kids meals and our drinks were free. However, this wasn't the first time l've had issues with this restaurant at Southland. I won't be going back.

A nice quick but fresh and tasty meal before seeing a movie. I chose a Thai calamari salad which had fantastic flavours. Fully recommend this restaurant.

the service was good the food was awful sorry to say, kids meal,s were bad my 5 year old could cook better than that! sorry to say i won,t go back, the one in the city was good 10 years ago .

The service & meals were great, we dine here regularly. It's a great place to dine at, before or after a movie, it's extremely convenient.

Great meals, really quick service and really good prices. Staff were really friendly. I had the lamb pizza this time and last time I had spinach and pumpkin risotto.

Food was amazing, serving sizes just right. Kids meals are really good, my kids at all of it. Tiramisu dessert is just yum..service from staff was great. We met up with family to meet their new baby..fun was had by all

Quality of the meals was good for the price with plenty of seafood in the risotto and lamb pizza was very tasty and the service was great.

Got in straightaway, it was great booking on line and easy. Pleasant waitresses, eager to help. The food was good. The Thai Calameri salad I would not have again. It was just a mass of cabbage with little calamari and left me hungry.

Staff were great! Meals weren't as good as I would have expected though. We got salt and pepper calamari and was dry and not much taste.

Food was good without being great. Bit pricey for what you get and they do the dodgy steak with no sides. Got to buy separately.

We had awesome staff looking after us. Very fast, prompt service with exceptional quality food and excellent presentation. I would rate my experience as 10/10!

My wife and I had a lovely, relaxing breakast for her birthday at Groove Train Southland. The meals were generous and delicious and the service friendly and considerate. The chef makes great omeletes !!

The service was great. Unfortunately my corn fritters weren't, but the service made up for it. This is why I keep going back. Generally the food there is also good.

The Groove train has nice, simple food. The service is good and meals are brought out quickly if you're heading to a movie after dinner. It's very busy on a Friday night so best to book..

The Moroccan lamb was tasteless & service was slow even at 5 pm being we were the only group of 6 seated at that time.

Nothing flash and certainly not value for money. My husband's steak was over cooked. Service was friendly and location convenient to see a movie afterwards.
