The only thing better than one delicious meatball is two delicious meatballs (or maybe three – watch this space for a third outgrowth from the popular pair), and Perth residents have exactly that on their hands thanks to the The Meatball Bar brothers. Nestled comfortably enough and almost side by side in Mount Lawley and here in Leederville, jostling with a host of other restaurant options at the busy strip along Oxford Street and Newcastle Street. If you like to roll in an international way, then The Meatball Bar is a place you need to pocket swiftly, with regulars from the so-called Ballers Club laying their hands on tables as if they were Faberge eggs, reason being chiefly the well-rounded menu... Take a peek at The Meatball Bar’s 5 Balls For 5 Bucks deal! The Meatball Bar (TMB to intimates) in Leederville rolled into view in 2015, softly setting down on Newcastle Street, close to the corner with Oxford Street at what’s become a thriving retail and entertainment hotspot in the City of Vincent, just an underarm bowl from Perth’s city centre. The handsome pair of Meatball Bars was whipped into shape by enterprising restaurateur and culinary all-rounder Giovanni Pezzano, keen to show off his intuition that the Italian meatball, provided it was massaged into being from premium grade meats and carefully selected flavours, could surpass any dry-aged grain-fed Wagyu steak bosh touted from restaurant menu to restaurant menu the length of the land. Here, everyone of the wide-ranging international cuisines available to the kitchen is served as a ball, ensuring (and we quote) that every guest enjoys a mouthful of exceptional flavours.
Let’s get the ball rollin’, Leederville! Append balls to any of the following international falvours: deep-fried bocconcini cheese with cashew and basil pesto for a real Italian kick, Malaysian peanut satay chicken and pork or red Thai curry beef with kaffir lime, caramelised papaya and toasted coconut to pay homage to Australian cuisine’s deep rootedness in Asian culinary traditions. Going further, bigger billiards listed under ‘Sexy Balls’ include the traditional Italian breed, Middle eastern pumpkin with Jersey feta, and sundry balls featuring the flesh of bull, pig, chicken, lamb and bull, including the tantalising pulled beef with sour cream and then some. Even things out with ‘A Little on the Side’ and give yourself a happy ending with a Sweet Desiraball like the deep-fried Oreo (balls) drizzled with warm pouring custard. Just trust us, if you want to get game at The Meatball Bar, indulging in Perth’s finest globular gastronomy washed down with a good mouthful or three from the crafty beer, winning wine and cracking, ahem, cocktail list, you’ll need to reserve a round at this restaurant in advance. Let the good times roll!
