Modern Eatery is one of those little gems you don’t actually want to review for selfish reasons. It is absolutely perfect, small, authentic, wonderful happy staff, you can watch the chefs from the bar, sit at the window bars or small groups at a table. The dishes are exquisite and we have our favourites which we can’t go past. I was so excited to be there last night, my first restaurant meal since before COVID ☺️

Our favourite restaurant! We have missed the friendly faces and skilful service of the staff at the Modern Eatery since the Covid closures. As soon as we could get a table we did and as usual as each of our “lucked clean” plates were returned to the kitchen we would comment to each other, “That was the best Sushi I’ve ever eaten!” And then, “THAT is the best Unagi Nigiri OMG!” And so was the Pork Gyoza, Scallop Nigiri and, Wagyu Don and Crispy Chicken Bao Bae. We feel incredibly lucky that this special restaurant is on our doorstep and the care that the wonderful staff took to make us feel at home and safe warmed our hearts. This is the first time I have reviewed a restaurant. After dozens of visits I should have done it sooner. The Modern Eatery Fremantle is a group of people who cook and serve from the heart and truly deserve to be congratulated.

Really enjoyed our first experience at this Restaurant. We even got something for free as a starter to welcome us first timers. Food overall was very nice and delicious, staff are all great and has the feeling of being in a Japanese restaurant with actual Japanese people working. Price is great for the quantity as other restaurant would charge double for the portion sizes are here. Really recommend and will definitely be coming back :)
