Food was lovely but the service was terrible. Waited for 10-15 min after being seated with no service - had to call someone over to take our order and provide water and wine glasses for our BYO wine. Then my main meal was served (a sizzling hotplate beef dish) before our shared entrees had arrived. When I asked for it to be served with the rest of the main meals, the waitress asked if it would be ok if she took it out the back and brought it back out when we were all ready for mains. I said “um no, it’s a sizzling hot plate dish … I’d prefer it to come back out to me sizzling!”. Really disappointing … for the price of the meals, I expect good service.

Slow service, wait staff inexperienced, one guest received wrong meal, food mediocre. Don’t know what’s happened at Toyama but it has definitely deteriorated. Been going there for years and was always better in the past.

We did the All you can eat option and the food was all really good, service was good too.

We booked tonight for all you can eat. We arrived at 6.00 pm and was seated until my partner asked for the all you can eat menu when we were told that the restaurant no longer has it anymore. We were very disappointed the way our night went, so we were lucky enough to get into Okami restaurant at Fairfield.

They lost the order for a meal at our table and for 20 minutes said they were following up then a waitress comes over and I say I still don’t have my meal and she looks confused so I say don’t bother. 5-10 minutes later the chef comes out to ask if there is a problem with my meal- yeah I don’t have it and I’ve been here nearly an hour. I just cooked myself scrambled eggs for dinner. Terrible service

Waited 40mins for miso soup to come out, they then forgot about the rest of our order. Reluctantly paid full price and left.

Toyama is obviously a neighbourhood gem - it was at capacity on Friday night with lots of groups celebrating - mainly birthdays. The food is good and it arrives quickly once you have placed your order. The tempura was a bit oily for me, but that could be because the kitchen was being kept very busy. We would happily return.

Price on the menu is higher than advertised and they had hidden surcharges illegally not mentioned until after eating. Overcharged us and food was average. Not with the extra prices. Dodgy.

Toyama has good food ,friendly service and good atmosphere .

I was so disappointed. I referred Toyama to a friend and was quite embarrassed. Unfortunately I will not be going back.

The restaurant was fine, the food was nice. The waiter was untrained, but a pleasant young man. The problem was a neighbouring table with two ‘out of control’ youngsters. The kids were running around and screaming; it made for a horrible dining experience. What’s wrong with parents that let their brats behave in such a way and think that it’s okay.

Mains came before entree. Service was slow and waiters seemed to not know what they were doing.
