Awesome food, service was excellent we will definitely be back!
Let me start by saying that the food here was great. But Unfortunately we left with a very bad taste in at least my mouth. We went to ‘Up In Smoke’ for Father’s Day and we travelled from the Eastern Suburbs to try this place out and it is worth the drive. The Starters and Mains were great, albeit a little smaller than expected. Then came dessert. Let me preface this next paragraph with the fact that my 5 year old son experiences severe anaphylaxis to peanut, or any peanut product. When ordering dessert, I explained to the staff member the situation and was assured that we could have the dessert with vanilla ice-cream, rather than a snickers ice-cream option. The dessert then arrived and I confirmed that it was peanut free. I was assured it was. I looked at my dessert and the colour looked like it could definitely contain peanuts, so I risked looking like a ‘neurotic mother’ and asked the waitress to double check. She came back and dismissively said “you got what you ordered”. I then took a bite, as I have learned to do before giving any to my son and definitely tasted peanuts. I then opened the dessert to find many full peanut kernels inside. Needless to say the staff were very sorry, but this could of resulted in a disasterous Father’s Day for our family. So all in all, give this place a go. But be very aware of ANY ALLERGY ISSUES. 😟
