There’s a whole lot of fun going down at number 37 McLachlan Street in Brisbane, the home of X Cargo, where every day is a holiday. The hip outdoor beer garden in Fortitude Valley has been constructed using repurposed shipping containers, creating a ‘playground for adults’ vibe. Look around and you’ll see street art popping out of every wall (the flamingo mural has become iconic). With room for up to 1,000 guests, there’s plenty of nooks to hang out with your best mates over delicious food and a few cocktails. Chill out on the bar stools right next to the bar (how convenient), grab a picnic table and pop an umbrella or head to one of the upstairs containers for a view of the action below. The menu is inspired by Latin American cuisine, with juicy burgers, fresh salads and fresh seafood available. The fruity and zingy selection of cocktails is not to be missed either – pomegranate and lime cosmo anyone? Not surprising, X Cargo is a hot spot, so booking is definitely recommended.
