food was mediocre not as good as other yum cha restaurants
On arrival staff urged you to order but takes quite long for the food to arrive. The congee we ordered was very salty and the specialty food (SP and above ) eere disappointing. We ordered prawn dumpling in gingseng soup as revommended by the waitress but can taste nothing except saltiness. The Abalone Diu Mai on the menu displayed Siu mai with an abalone covering the whole Siu Mai but what we got was 3 Siu mai each covered with an ultra tiny abalone smaller than our small finger nail. Not a satisfactory experience.
$98 dinner set meal is great value for family or friends gathering. Your choice of 5 dishes , include soup, rice, and dessert enough for 5 to 6 people.
Lunch at Yum Cha Cuisine’s Westfield Garden City restaurant is never a dull affair, with steamed and pan-fried dim sum, signature yum cha dishes, Chinese barbecue and rice noodle rolls slotting into place alongside Chinese buns and sponge cakes for dessert. Plus, Yum Cha Cuisine looks the part too despite being inside Upper Mount Gravatt’s main mall, one of Brisbane’s biggest, using latticework partitions and circular features to evocative effect.
Classic Chinese soups, sizzling hot plate dishes, hot pot, meat, poultry, vegetable and rice and noodle dishes round out Yum Cha Cuisine’s comprehensive offering, but it’s the chef’s recommendations that we recommend you check out if it’s your first time visiting what’s one of south Brisbane and Upper Mount Gravatt’s most popular Chinese restaurants. Spice lovers should try the king prawns with XO chilli sauce or the stir-fried lamb fillets with special chilli sauce, while Cantonese cuisine is represented by pork ribs and seafood specialties by the pan-fried silver cod with sweet soy sauce. Find Yum Cha Cuisine inside the Westfield Garden City mall on the corner of Kessels Road and Logan Road – but be sure to book in advance as the restaurant is regularly busy.
