Zen Japanese Restaurant

Generally dishes are very good and this cafe is a local favourite but disappointed with the seafood udon noodles which was bland although the seafood elements were plentiful

Amazing food. We thought we over ordered but it was soooo good that we ate it alllll up! 😆 The service was really great too! Very polite and patient. The food came quickly. I don't think we've had plain steamed rice that yummy before too! The chilli sashimi, charcoal grill sushi platter, sashimi platter, chicken teriyaki, wagyu, seafood Udon were what we had. Every single dish was great. Sashimi was so fresh! Our kids loved them too! The only reason why I didn't put down the best rating is because the toilets are located up a flight of stairs that are slightly steeper than usual. I won't recommend it for older people or those with little kids for this reason. Also the entrance door doesn't shut on its own and we sat near the door where the cold air kept coming in whenever people come and in out and forget to shut the door. There were quite a few food delivery people so it was pretty chilly sitting next to the door and having to get up to shut it on our own every few minutes.

We had a wonderful meal with excellent service. Thank you very much.

I have been to Zen more times than I could count with it being so close to my work. I have never had anything than other than a delicious, consistent visit. The bento boxes remain great value and generous in their content and variety of flavours. A real favourite.

Intimate seating provided for a date with my daughters. Has been a favourite restaurant of mine for many years prior to the pandemic & I visited with friends frequently. Choosing vegetarian diet there is a wonderful variety available. And the staff are very friendly & welcoming.

The ambiance and food was amazing. We tried so many things off the menu including the plum wine and hot sake. By far the best Japanese restaurant I have been to! Staff were friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed and chill. Definitely a place to try great Japanese food. Thank you for a wonderful experience and night.

I went there for lunch today to celebrate my husband’s b’day. The lunch offer is great! Only half price you pay but you get good quality of food and the portion is big. We like the sashimi and the tempura most. The temperature is just perfect. Only thing is we waited for 30mins before the meal comes. Probably because we got there right after they open and the kitchen is not ready yet. We will go back again.
