The Royal Oak Hotel - Double Bay

The Royal Oakes Hotel at Double Bay was a good gastro pub menu. Food was fresh and great tasting

We went for dinner but it was just too noisy and crowded we didn’t stay. I thought we would be in a dedicated restaurant area but we we were in the main bar area while the football was on. Perhaps for a different occasion...

Far too noisy and the table was right next to the bar, couldn't talk over the noise Should have an eating area away from the bar.

We had a wonderful time at the Royal Oak today. I have a severe hearing loss, which I mentioned when booking the table. The bistro went out of its way to give me an excellent table and turned off the speaker above us so I could hear every word during the meal. Food was very good indeed and the service was friendly and efficient..would certainly eat there again.

Not enough bar staff on - had to wait 20mins to get served. Staff inexperienced behind bar. Food was very good thanks to the kitchen for saving the night Just happened to be Winx last race so hundreds of people there. Far too many drunk women vomiting in the ladies - why don’t you monitor who you let in seriously

Lovely pub meals. Not sure about the ‘Strawberry Cheesecake Bites’ for dessert - tasted like Apple Crumble, looked like rissoles neither of which were on the menu - wasn’t bad just very, very unexpected.

The food was delicious but the table wasnt appropriate for the 4 kids we had.

I had made a table booking online and when we arrived, they had no idea of any booking. After a while they noticed a table with my name on it. I then paid for two meals separately, went back to my table and when the meals (2) arrived I was told that i was only charged for 1 meal.

Great food and drink options. Ideal place for group events

We ordered a starter for 4 people plus mains and we were disappointed when they all arrived at the same time. When we discussed this with the duty manager he reprimanded us and said we should have informed them that the starter was to be delivered before the mains. Ironically he did not seem to understand the difference between a starter and a main.

Staff were amazing...Kristie and Alex were amazing. Food was super and came out in great time. Wine was great, atmosphere sensational...we will be back...probably tomorrow night!
