Great food, nice atmosphere, very attentive service. Will be back.
Awesome food and hospitality. Best of the Lebanese kitchen is served here.
i was looking forward to some really tasty food, I found it a bit lack luster. We chose the Banquet, The dips were quite tasteless, shop bought pita. The following meals didn't have the flavour & spice that i expect from this cuisine. I eat alot of middle eastern food and I also cook it so there lies the problem I guess. The Beans so overcooked & the meat was dry thru to the desert the Baclava was missing the nuts and Turkish delight was similar to shop bought from a packet. Disappointing given the reputation of this place
Abla's has been around a long time, and has been the iconic Lebanese restaurant in Melbourne for a long time, and deservedly so. Previous visits I've had here have confirmed this reputation. But I do have concerns after my most recent visit. I found the food to be ok, but somewhat underwhelming for a place of such high expectations. I would suspect that this might possibly be that they are doing it hard due to covid like a lot of hospitality institutions are... And then there was the manager who insisted that our party of 6 were required to order banquets - even though (1) this requirement was not made clear at the time of booking (2) we had a vegan in our party who is particular about what they eat and didn't want to have their choices made for them and (3) none of us were really keen to have to shell out $60 or more for a banquet we didn't really want to have in the first place. After negotiating with the manager, we were able to order a la carte - but the need to negotiate this in the first place left a bitter taste in our mouths. If they must insist with a policy of forcing parties over a certain number to order banquets, then this should be made VERY CLEAR at the time such bookings are made.
A nice experience with tasty food, however we felt the restaurant itself is somewhat overrated.
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Highly recommend for the girls night!
atmosphere was great. small and cosy. bit noisey at start but ok after table of girls left. food was nice but potions very small.
Fast service with great traditional food. Full licence for wine and spirits
Excellent and thoroughly enjoyable Went back with other friends a week later
Its definitely a place to go and experience the food. Everything we had was brilliant.$100 for two people with beer was just perfect.
Fantastic experience. Service friendly. Great value. Will be back soon.
Outstanding quality of food, amazing value for money, never disappoints.
Delicious, fresh flavours. So lovely to return to a celebration of true flavours
Great experience will go back ... good food as always
Tasty, fresh and authentic food every time. It’s such a pleasure to eat at Abla’s.
Excellent food and ambience. Even though we were in semi lockdown the restaurant came through amazingly. Can’t recommend it highly enough. Abla’s never lets you down.
Great food and service. We were even lucky to be greeted by Abla and chat to her as she made her way around talking to diners. Abla's is one of a few restaurants that let you BYO Monday to Thursday and we were able to enjoy a lovely bottle of wine for only a $10 corkage. Abla's is a wonderful institution with consistent quality and service. Highly recommend to revisit.
Good Lebanese food, 2nd time here and the food and service is very good
