Great ambience and very friendly and helpful staff. Food good and not overly expensive. Wines limited and a bit pricey. But overall excellent! A good night out.
The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. Great atmosphere - had a lovely night! We brought our friends and they enjoyed it as well. My second visit and had a birthday voucher so was a very reasonably priced night
Food was wonderful. Great service. And a complimentary limoncello completed the evening. We sat outside and it was a lovely cool night. Really enjoyable evening
We have a lovely night. Staff attentive and food cooked to perfection! My friends and I love Fernandos. I would recommend Fernando for price and friendly staff. Have been a regular fir a number of years now. If I lived closer I would be there more often.
We went to At Fernando's for a special occasion dinner, and were impressed by their willingness to let us bring our own cake, which they not only kept for us but brought out with three wait staff to sing Happy Birthday. Very high marks for pleasant and accommodating service. Food was good (spatchcock, pizza, ravioli and linguine) and choice was reasonable. I would probably rate 4.5 if it was an option - the negatives were: service efficiency didn't quite match its pleasant attitude (we had to struggle a bit to get our bill); main courses came with very little except the featured food (that is, no starch or vegetables accompanied my very tasty spatchcock), so meal wasn't quite filling enough. Pasta serving sizes were perhaps a bit small. Overall, though, it was an enjoyable evening, and the minor gaps in service can easily be overcome.
If you don't mind the rather slow (although very friendly) service there's no better place for a relaxing dinner than At Fernando's. It's almost like having a meal in someone's home: no fussy menus just down to earth honest Italian staples (a good selection) cooked to perfection in generous proportions. It's worth the 12 minute wait as stated on the menu for the chocolate pudding! Love it.
We have only just started using Quandoo to make restaurant bookings but have been to At Fernandos many times and will no doubt be there often in the future. The range of dishes on the Italian menu offers as much choice as you need and the food is perfectly prepared and presented (the veg side dish at no extra cost). Started with a bowl of olives - simple but just great. The husband and wife wait team were happy and attentive and the manager takes a personal interest in his guests. If you've been to the movies just across the road then you also get a pretty good discount.
Staff were incredibly accommodating and polite but the restaurant wasn't that busy and it appeared understaffed. I am afraid that I would not rate the food as being great, especially in a location where Italian food can and is so good. At Fernando's was a little less expensive than most in Leichhardt, where it seems that getting a pasta dish under $30 these day is a bargain. There were some decent entry level wines on their list I have to say. I really wanted this to be a gem. A decently priced, good quality Italian we would frequent often, but sadly not.
It was an unforgetable experience. Last Sunday was my birthday and I booked a table for 5 people. As I was celebrating my bday with my husband and few friends, the waiter offered us a bottle of house wine and also my main meal for free. I was definitely spoiled that night. Food was very tasty and the service was great. My big thanks for the Brazilian staff (forgot his name) for who was looking after us that night! Ah, I could not forget to metion at the end of our night the free shots of homemade limoncello!!!
They made us feel very welcome. The food was a little disappointing as the standard seem to be lacking last night. We have eaten their many time over the last 8 years and this would have been the least favourite meal. The spatchcock only came to the table with grilled baby tomatoes and no other vegetables where previously it would have come with a nice salad and or vegetables. The size of the fish was very small also, it came with 3 asparagus spears cut in half and 3 polenta chips. We will go back again in a couple of months to see if this have gone back to the great restaurant we remembered it to be.
