Bad Hombres. Good food. That’s pretty much how it goes. This cool Surry Hills restaurant doesn’t try too hard to be anything it’s not, which can only be said of restaurants in Sydney that are dead sure of the quality of their menu. Or menus, we should say, as along with the main Bad Hombres menu there’s also a vegan menu that locals can’t get enough of. Throw in the aforementioned selection of natural wines and some impressive cocktails and you can see why Bad Hombres Surry Hills is popular for lunch, dinner or drinks.
Once you’ve arrived on Reservoir Street and are comfy in your seat, the main Bad Hombres menu consists of little plates and big plates. The little plates range from a broccolini & cavolo nero quesadilla to spring vegetable tostadas with black eyed beans and hot sauce. Then, the big plates that are built for sharing range from confit assorted mushrooms with white bean puree, jalapeno ash and lime, all the way through to cauliflower with seaweed salt, cashew cream and salsa verde. As you can see, not your average Mexican food. Reservations at Bad Hombres Sydney are essential.
