Great service, good food and drinks were lovely. Would recommend

booked the last spot at Baja Cantina for dinner on Saturday 9th August, 8:45 pm. The restaurant’s Google listing and website state they close at 10 pm. When we arrived, our two male waiters were lovely – they served us promptly, and our food and drinks came out quickly, which was great. However, the experience quickly went downhill. We had been seated for less than an hour when, at around 9:23 pm, the waitress on duty started rushing around, clearing plates and loudly announcing “kitchen closed, bar closed.” She began mopping aggressively around our table, banging chairs, and generally making it clear she wanted us to leave. By 9:24 pm I was told the bar was closed – which is fine if that’s policy – but the way it was said was unnecessarily blunt and rude. By 9:28 pm, she was hovering to take my glass of water before I’d even finished. When I asked, “I thought you closed at 10 pm?” she ignored me. I then asked if I could please finish my water; she walked away without a word. The mopping, noise, and rushed atmosphere continued. We paid our bill ($93.18) at 9:36 pm and left at 9:38 pm – still less than an hour after being seated. The way we were treated completely ruined the evening. I understand staff want to finish on time, but projecting that frustration onto customers, especially when they’re well within the posted trading hours, is poor hospitality and unacceptable customer service. As a Glebe local, I will not be returning and will be sharing this experience with friends and family.

It didn’t even taste like Mexican food. The sauce was awful.

Great food and really prompt and efficient service. I would definitely recommend. My only feedback would be more wait time between entree and main as everything came very quickly so we didn't end up eating all of the entree. Maybe we didn't clarify this when ordering.

It had been quite a few years since we had eaten at Baja Cantina and we really enjoyed the food but this evening we were very disappointed with the quality and quantity of the food and would not return.

Generally the experience was pretty meh. Bog standard food, drinks we decent enough. Uninspired.

Fast service, fresh and delicious meals (nachos and burritos) gorgeous decor and attentive waitstaff (I dropped my fork and the waitress replaced it in about 5 seconds!)

The food, the cocktails 🍸, the ambiance and the staff were amazing. It was a little noisy, a group celebrating a birthday, but the staff were happy to request that they lower their volume. I’ll be back

It’s not like it used to be. I asked for a meal without cream and was told it was impossible as it was already prepared early in the day Then our mains came before we even had finished entree in like 10-15 mins and there was only one other table there. Really nothing like it used to be

Baja Cantina - A Wonderful Dining Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Yesterday evening, my newly met friends and I had an amazing dining experience at Baja Cantina, a cozy Mexican restaurant near the University of Sydney. Originally, we had a reservation for two, but a third friend decided to join us last minute. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that there were no available tables for three. We thought we might have to cancel our dinner plans, but thanks to the professional and thoughtful service of the front desk staff, we were offered a solution—she kindly let us know that a table for three would be available in 30 minutes. We decided to wait, and soon we were seated in the beautiful back garden. The service was outstanding! Our waiter was very friendly and patient in explaining the menu. Since we are new here and not very familiar with the English names of the dishes, his detailed explanations really helped us make our choices. I even noticed that he had some sweat on his forehead—probably because he was so busy—but he remained warm and attentive throughout. We ordered a burrito, chimichanga, chicken wings, and tacos with steak—everything was absolutely delicious! The flavors were rich, and the experience was fantastic. I highly recommend Baja Cantina and will definitely bring more friends next time! 🌮✨

The customer service is terrible, a robot serves better, the girl who served us did so reluctantly and the food was not good. We will not go back

My family of four celebrated my wife’s birthday at Baja Cantina. The space was fun and lively, service friendly and prompt, and the food delicious. The highlight was the Chicken Mole. The staff went above and beyond, bringing out complementary churros for my wife. Great experience.

Food and drinks were great, location is fantastic, staff are helpful and attentive. The only downside is it's way too noisy. The tables are very close together and it was necessary to yell to be heard chatting across the table over dinner.

Food as usual was great. Nice atmosphere. Disappointed that Taco Tuesdays has changed to all you can eat for a set price and time slot. Could get cheap tacos before on Tuesday but that's changed. Looks like we will be going elsewhere.

The food and service as fine. The only thing stopping us giving a perfect score were the ‘influencers’ at the next table with their camera and bright spotlight constantly up and down taking pics of every plate served. My partner is sensitive to bright light and it was really making her uncomfortable. Why was this necessary? Were they there at the restaurants request? Either way they could have been asked to use a table out the back as they clearly weren’t there for the dining experience, rather order some food, take a whole lots of snaps, then leave.
