Bean Counter Cafe is beloved by locals around the northeast Melbourne suburbs, who must realise how lucky they are to have a reliable go-to in the neighbourhood. Bean Counter dutifully repays this custom at Railway Place in Fairfield by being about as welcoming and thoughtful for guests as you can imagine a cafe to be – they have the daily newspaper, there are wheelchair ramps and a disabled toilet, a changing table for tiny ones, kids menu, toys and a chalkboard for little ones, bike racks for the active, even a dog bowl and tying station for the canines. Bean Counter have thought of everything for everyone, and their menu is no exception – photogenic sweet waffles for a special treat, hearty all-day breakfasts to keep you going, gluten-free variations and plenty of healthy vegetarian options, a varied kids menu and amazing house-made muffins, cakes and biscuits to top off a lovely afternoon tea.
Great food. Friendly staff. Moderately priced. Had a family birthday brunch here and we all left impressed. Close to station so very convenient location. Worth a try.
Great coffee, friendly service and delicious food! Love that the kids can have a play while I can actually eat and enjoy my lunch without having to rush.
Good service, meal sizes good and very tasty. Lamb shanks were generous, tender and delicious. Play area in courtyard is attractive for toddlers. Most enjoyable.
