We had a lovely meal - the atmosphere was very good, service was excellent. Food was terrific. We will be back again.

Great little Bistro, food is not the standard heavy over served fair for this style. Good produce well handled.

Solid German/Austrian fare. Charcuterie board was sufficient for a light meal. Ambient pleasant for conversation without being disturbed. Will return and try other dishes.

Having been to Austria last year, and looking to line the tummy before a night out, I googled German Restaurants in Melbourne and found Bierkeller. I'm so glad I did! The food is amazing and my friends and I easily shared the taste platter. And we are big eaters! We washed the food down with delicious imported beer and followed up with the shared dessert platter. Everything was outstanding! Authentic and delicious!

Great food. Good wine, bier and schnapps list. Would like to have seen more Austrian biers available, rather than just German ones.

We stayed for quite a few hours as it was a nice easygoing vibe. We had the platter and I asked to swap the sauerkraut for red cabbage which seemed a bit difficult. They came through though and it was all very delicious. Biers were great.

As always, great Austrian food and even better service. Host always helpful and has a good knowledge of Austrian wines and beers. Will definitely return to Bier Keller.

The pork belly was tender, crackling wasn't overly salty. Loved the pork schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Good beer on tap. A must try for German food lovers.

Austrian style eatery. Friendly staff. Foods nice. Interesting wine list. Reasonably price list. The usually have an Austrian beer on top. Last night it was DAB from Germany.

We've been looking for a great German/Austrian restaurant ever since Mutti's closed several years ago. For since reason we missed this one. Better late than never and the food is amazing, saying that as German born and bred. Let's hope they stay around for a long time yet. Take the combo platter for a good section of the did choices. Based on that you can choose a dish to focus on next time. Whether it's the wiener schnitzel or the goulash or the pork roast. Remember to lubricate with plenty of their excellent German and Austrian imported beers. Follow up with the exquisite apple strudel and since of the schnappses. You will be pleasantly miserable in the best way.

If you want a truly authentic Austrian experience, then Bierkeller in Richmond is the place to go. Great food, drinks and service. It was our second visit and will return.

The four of us shared two Austrian tasting boards, small charcuterie with a pretzel, 3 different tap beers, and 4 different schnapps--all amazing and too much food! The food, friendliness, service, and atmosphere of this place keeps us coming back and bringing more friends so they get to experience it as well. Awesome place!

Great Austrian and Germany Style food, and beers are excellent. Need more advertising, and reach more people. Not sure about the wait stuff, a bit too pushy in beer. However, the Chef is excellent.

Staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the beers they were serving, offering suggestions which would compliment the meal. The sausage fest meal was great and was a substantial serving. The meal is enough for 2 people. 3 large tasty sausages with the best sauerkraut and breads.

We enjoyed dinner, er had the pork schnitzel, roast pork belly and some sides and all of it was delicious. The staff were also friendly adding to a great first time experience and a lovely evening. Will definitely be coming back!

Great service from friendly staff. A real culinary experience. We all enjoyed our meals which were more than adequate in size. Two of us shared the Pork Hock and still couldn't finish it. Apple strudel was the best we have ever tasted...even better than in Vienna. Will definitely be returning.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere, but it could be a bit more Austrian. Good variety of beer. Good food, although in our menu the schnitzel seemed to be fried not baked in a pan, sadly.

My son chose BeirKeller for his birthday dinner with the family. The food is great! Generous serves and there are vegetarian options, too. For a treat we let our birthday boy have a non alcoholic beer and the proprietor offered him a dessert special on the house! Great service, great beer selection, authentic menu, amazing food. Loved the schnitzels, dumplings, strudel and pretzels. It was pretty quiet but our waiter was helpful and attentive.

Very authentic Austrian food with great service. I recommend booking in advance because the restaurant gets packed in the evening. The pretzels & wiener schnitzel were particularly good

We were a group of 6 people. The service was great and the food was just right for a rainy night in Melbourne. Not quite snow in Vienna - but close enough.
