At this neighbourhood favourite, rustic Italian pizzas and classic cafe cuisine are served up in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Located on St Kilda Road, this South Yarra cafe and restaurant is open seven days a week, attracting diners for lunch and dinner from the local area as well as further afield in Melbourne. To score one of the best tables at Cafe Rosco, making a reservation in advance is recommended!
With its sleek setting and menu packed with Italian cuisine, it's no wonder that Melbourne’s Cafe Rosco has been winning over the hearts of South Yarra for many years now. Begin your meal with the calamari fritti (lightly-crumbed calamari rings served with chips, salad and homemade tartare sauce), garlic prawns or lamb cutlets, before moving on to your main. We recommend trying one of Cafe Rosco’s infamous pizzas, like the tropical delight (tomato, cheese, ham, mushrooms, pineapple, prawns) the red devil (tomato, cheese, hot salami, mushrooms, green peppers, chilli, anchovies) or the Aussie (tomato, cheese, ham and bacon).
Other Italian classics on the menu at Cafe Rosco include hearty Italian pastas as well as an array of meat and seafood dishes. We love the pollo avocado (grilled succulent chicken fillet topped with avocado and creamy wine sauce served with potato and vegetables). To guarantee a table at Cafe Rosco on St Kilda Road in Melbourne’s South Yarra, making a recommendation ahead of time is wise.
We had a great New Years dinner with friends. Delicious meals (catering for allergies), very friendly staff, lovely owners! Thanks Cafe Rosco! Have a Happy New Year!!!
Great food, good service. Portion very big and large too door sure will be returning soon. I'm a vegan and they made me very good cream base vegan pasta.
This place never fails to deliver. Great atmosphere, food and interaction with all of the staff. Thanks for a great night again Andrew, both of our guests have indicated that they will be back.
A great family restaurant... have been going here for a couple of years now and it's the best pizza by far.Other mains are so tasty and quick service
My husband and I arrived to a lovely welcome and were shown to our table by a smiling and friendly waitress. We ordered drinks and spent a few minutes chatting with the owner who was welcoming, engaging and very funny. The menu is vast and we found it hard to choose from such an excellent range. The pizzas were delicious, well priced and very substantial. We will definitely be back. Thanks for such a great experience. Steph and David.
A 3 only because the waiter who served us on the 26th Jan 2016, was very polite, attentive and professional. We both ordered the Blue Fish and my Girlfriend wouldn't eat hers. It was dry and chewy, not soft and easy to eat. My fish was the same and although I ate it, this was purely due to the fact I was starving after having walked a couple of laps of the Tan. $71.00 for 2 x meals that were barely edible is terrible value for money. This particular menu item was listed as a special. It was especially bad. The only reason I didn't raise the issue with management was because my Girlfriend didn't want to bother with the fuss and preferred just to pay and leave. Money wasted on an Australia Day lunch we were both looking forward to Michael
This little restaurant was very busy and obviously popular with the locals and for good reason. My pasta was so full of flavour, and my partners cutlets were great. We were in and out in about 40 minutes but somehow didn't feel rushed, a well organised restaurant for sure. Will return.
A wonderful experience for our first date, and now first anniversary. We'll be returning every year to celebrate this occasion with the lovely staff and awesome food.
Staff were attentive and checked in with us regularly to make sure we enjoyed our meal. Pizza was great and the lasagna was a highlight. Recommended!
Really good local cafe for those who live around St Kilda Rd. Friendly staff, good choices on the menu and we all loved the food. Happy to go back anytime.
