Concrete Duck @ Kantine is a bistro and cafe housed within the building on the corner of Denham Street and Campbell Street in Surry Hills. Their interior decor is the first thing that makes an impression – stark black and white designs abound – and their European-inspired food is similarly spectacular, both in terms of taste and presentation. They’re open for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, so if you’re in that particular part of Sydney, make sure you book a table now.
"Another perfect dinner" I have dined here on many occasions from romantic dinners for two, family and friend groups and I have always had a great time. The food is amazing! The service excellent! Highly recommend the duck risotto paired with a red wine of Anna's choice!
Lovely ambience with comfortable seating in a quiet but easily accessible location. Our mains were nicely portioned and we're all delicious. My only 'criticism' is that on this occasion there wasn't a vegetarian main on the menu, but our friend had a vegetarian entree with dune vegetarian sides. I would recommend the outstanding creme brulee!
I organised for a work team lunch here. Food was good quality and eclectic. Good service and atmosphere. I would definitely come back again. thank you!

By day, head on down to Concrete Duck and tuck into a breakfast time favourite like the baked eggs with house beans and chorizo, or chow down on a rustic sandwich, the deluxe beef burger or a main course like the lamb ragu with pasta of the day come lunchtime. In the evening time at Concrete Duck, indulge in refined European dishes with a modern twist. Start off by sharing some small tapas plates like the seared scallops with pea veloute, chorizo and citrus gel or the halloumi wrapped in prosciutto and served with a pineapple salsa, before moving onto the confit duck, fish of the day or a succulent steak. To snag a seat at this Surry Hills favourite, making a booking in advance is wise.
