Darbar Indian Restaurant

I have eaten here quite a few times. I first visited when I dined with a party of over 20 people and everyone was happy with the food and the service. Otherwise I've been in parties of three to five people. The experience has been consistently good. The food has always been excellent. I have spent several years in India and the ambience of the old building in which this restaurant is located and the atmosphere in the subterranean space, with the quality of the dining experience and food is like a visit to a great restaurant in Mumbai or Delhi. I'll continue to eat here whenever I'm in the mood for delicious Indian food.

Wow. This restaurant not only has an intriguing decor but the food was fantastic. Definitely taken on a journey to India via our taste buds. Superb spices and flawless flavours all met with service that was brilliant and making sure we left wanting to come back again sometime. Highly recommended.

Great atmosphere and amazing food! Loved every dish we ordered. The location in Glebe is great and is near lots of trendy bars for drinks after your meal.

Have been going here for years, the service, food, and atmosphere are next to none. It is my go-to restaurant​ in Glebe/City for myself or anyone else!

Excellent service, reasonable price for great food. Yes really enjoyed dining here at this restaurant, relaxed atmosphere not too quiet and not noisy from other dinners. Will come again.

Excellent food and great service in a lovely setting. Less crowded during the middle of the week. We had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back.

Wonderful experience! The staff were all so lovely and really accommodating. The food was divine, with staff helping us make decisions to ensure we had a lovely meal with great variety. Definitely highly recommended!

Fantastic food, courteous and prompt service, great atmosphere. reasonable price for the quality. Whether you want a booking for a large party of intimate dinner , I would suggest Darbar. Highly recommended.

Not bad But the drinks need to be a lot bigger. The quantitys of the drinks are tiny and it's hard to wash down food with that size . But overall a good experience.

Not the fastest service but extremely pleasant wait staff. (always a good idea to offer a drink as soon as guests are seated - helps sales and starts the night off on a good note - we waited some time and then had to flag down the waiter). Food was excellent Wait time between order and food arrival was quick. Wait staff were knowledgeable about the various products - even understood the processes of some. Will return -

Great service and staff, awesome food and portion was just right.. Great value on Tuesday Night mains (half price except for lamb dishes). Worth many repeats!

Great food and lovely ambiance with excellent service. Entrees are superb but be warned - mains are delicious but very rich! A lovely place to eat and relax with good friends.

Good food, great service. We had a variety of dishes, staff gave additional servings to fit a 5-person table and water glasses were kept filled. Less than $50 per head including drinks, entrees and mains.

I enjoyed the food and appreciate that the charge for corkage is only for the bottle, service was friendly but not consistent. Nice ambience and location

Great food, definitely the best Indian food I've had in Sydney! Also really good service. Will definitely be back and would highly recommend. A little bit pricey would be my only downside.

It was great! Music a bit too loud but nothing to worry about. Food was fabulous too. I don't have much else to say really.

Food was excellent, lamb chops were so tender, chicken tikka masala very tasty, will definitely come here again, great looking restaurant and freindly service. Top marks for me

Always wonderful food. We were late for our booking and their website says they can only guarantee the table for 15mins after the booking time, but our table was still waiting :) Service was very attentive but not obtrusive. It is a hidden gem! The best dish of the meal was the cauliflower (aloo gobi).

The food was superb and the service was excellent.It is so nice not to be rushed from entree to main to enable you to enjoy the food at a leisurely pace.

The food was excellent with extremely tasty sauces and generous servings. We were served by a very attentive waiter in a restaurant set in the delightful surroundings.

The food is excellent but it can be very noisy. We had a noisy group sitting behind us and found it difficult to hear our friends. Perhaps they can try to separate the groups more when there are vacant tables available.

Good food and ambience, the price is reasonable however it can seem that staff are a little standoff-ish and hard to get a hold of

My guest were very pleased with the service of the friendly staff and the yummy food that was on the menu. We visit this restaurant very often and had previously had an anniversary function too. It's a great place for an Indian cuisine.

Excellent food. Lots of delicious dishes and a bit different to the usual. Service is excellent. Friendly and efficient. One of the best Indian restaurants in the inner city.

Great customer service and food! Glebe has loads of good restaurants but Darbar is something else. Fantastic atmosphere and enough space for bigger groups as well.

Nice food and great value. A tip would be to book your table on Tuesday nights because of the promotion. I love the prawn curry.

Extremely popular on Tuesdays because of the half price mains. Book your table and be prepared for average service. In staying that it's worth it for the delicious food and prices, Plus the staff try hard.
