Service was great and the atmosphere of the place was also good. Did however find 3 little baby cockaroaches in the bottom of our rainbow nachos...didnt realise initially as we were sitting outside and thought they were bugs that had just flown over. Ordered extra lemon and some chilli to amp up the taste of the dish. We also had the 'Smokey' pumpkin salad which was really disappointing. Ingredients were sparse and spread around a smallish bowl with very little balsamic glaze and no seasoning. 'Pickled onions' had a splash of vinegar but were not at all what I would call pickled. Pumpkin was cold and had been baked without any seasoning, not a hint of smokiness as described on the menu and didn't taste fresh. Beetroot was directly from a can. Definitely not worth the $20 charged. Really glad to see more and more plant based offerings in and around Newtown but the quality and taste of the food at other establishments is heads and shoulders above what we experienced at Deep groove. Also didn't realise the place wasn't 100% vegan and ended up paying an extra $6 to replace the dairy cheese with non dairy cheese. Overall the menu hypes up the dishes to be packed full of flavour which the certainly were not...😕
